Finally, during the coronavirus, an event that SOS Events could participate in. Teacher Appreciation Day at Greco Middle School in Temple Terrace, FL.
The teachers lined up in their cars and drove by the the vendors to get a gift from each business participating. The distance rules were obeyed as the teachers were given their gift through their car window.
Each teacher received a gift and a tract with the 3 Things God Can Not Do from SOS Events Ministry. Pray for teachers everywhere whose lives have been changed as most schools are closed until the fall semester.
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
This is Stephanie. She is not in school because of the coronavirus so she is working with SOS Events a few mornings each week. (We are using social distancing)
Welcome to the office, Stephanie. We are happy to have you.
SOS Events has an intern program where young people that are in 7th grade or older can get experience working in a ministry. They work in the office and sometimes outside. When they are older and apply for jobs they have a reference and experience needed to secure good employment. They also see how a ministry works and have learned how to witness and win souls to the Lord. There have been at least 8 girls that have worked with SOS Events in our home office and many who work with other teams, especially in Alabama going to events to learn how to witness. Boys are part of this program, also.
I Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Mark Adams holds a special place in our hearts at SOS Events ministry. When he had a home in Florida, he would come over to the home office to “visit”. One day he went out to the workshop where Tom (cofounder of SOS Events) and David were making displays.
Mark watched and said he had a better idea. Why not use metal shelf holders instead of wooden dowels to allow the doors to turn. That idea changed the way the displays were made and we use metal instead of wood today to make our displays.
Mark loved SOS Events and invited Tom and Carolyn to Kentucky to present SOS Events to his home church.
Mark was known as the “ ice cream man” in his hometown and took a SOS Events display board to witness to children when they came to buy ice cream.
We recently learned of his home going to Heaven. Jesus must have welcomed Mark. Well done thy good and faithful servant.
Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
SOS Event volunteers, still winning the lost to Jesus. The “3 Things God Can Not Do” still works. Same place, same volunteer, proclaiming the same message. Praise the Lord.
Galatians 6:9
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Patty Mills…”March is finally here! My most favorite month of the year…when God chose to have me both physically born and spiritually reborn and baptized at the age of 6! It’s the month the Holy Spirit chose to bring about my rededicated and rebaptism to Christ in 2013 and was also the month He chose to allow me to train to become a Leader with SOS Events and Alabama SOS A Life Saving Ministry in 2014! It’s also the month that my family and friends should begin receiving our family’s Missionary Support letter in the mail within the next couple of weeks, we think! Asking for their prayer, love and partnership with us as we take the next step in our faith journey with my affirmed surrendering to God as a Missionary!! Praise be to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit! More to come…”
Patty is still working with SOS Events in Alabama. She has been a great blessing to the ministry and has recruited many new people to be volunteers. She loves to win souls and will be attending the Annual meeting in Florida on March 21. Thank you Patty for your faithful service.
Ephesians 2:10 – For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Yesterday was a great blessing. SOS Events Ministry has many Christian women who truly love the Lord and love the ministry, who come each month to help send out the monthly newsletter. To hear them laugh, talk and have fellowship as they work is so wonderful. Thank you ladies. You are truly loved and appreciated.
1 John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1 John 4:11-13 – Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
SOS Events Ministry offers Training to prepare volunteers to witness at events. Yesterday, at Scott Lake Baptist Church several people came for training. It was a small group but everyone was so excited to learn and be ready to go to events to witness. In the class there were various ages from a young teenage girl to a retired pastor. God brings to the ministry people He wants to be His soul winners.
Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
SOS Events Florida team had the first weekend event of the year on Saturday. Two people accepted Jesus as their Savior. Sometimes we are disappointed when only one or two decisions are recorded at an event, but we must remember that the angels in Heaven rejoice over one. There are many Events in Florida this time of year and many volunteers are needed to join the team. There is no joy greater than leading someone to the Lord. Let’ go soul winning!
Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
If you think about it, it’s a bit strange for someone to put goodies in an old sock. But like many Christmas traditions, the tradition of Christmas stockings comes from an old legend. A long time ago (so the story goes), a poor man had three daughters and couldn’t afford to give them a dowry (money or goods given to the groom’s family by the bride’s family). In those days, it was very hard for a woman to get married without a dowry. A Christian bishop named Nicholas heard about the problem and wanted to help, but the man refused to accept money. One night, Nicholas threw three balls made of pure gold in through the open window of the man’s house. Each one landed in a stocking hung by the fire to dry. The next morning, each daughter found a gold ball in her stocking. With this bounty, they were all able to get married. Stockings can remind us of the importance of service. The greatest example of service is Jesus Christ. He always “went about doing good” (Acts 10:38). Take some time to think about the Savior’s selfless acts of service. How can you give Christlike service and show kindness to others?
Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
