My Sheep Hear My Voice

February 9, 2017

“My sheep hear my voice” is what the scripture says, not “my sheep can hear My voice” or “My sheep should hear My voice” but that they do hear His voice. Note also that God directs His voice to His sheep. He doesn’t say “My intelligent follower”, or “the popular or kind”. No, He says, “My sheep”. The sheep knows the sound, the inflection, of its shepherd’s voice. So we are to know the voice of God in our life as a Christian. How does God speak to us, His sheep? Clearly He speaks through His Word. Read it, study it, and listen to it.

John 10:3b (KJV) “…the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them… “

John 10:14 (KJV) “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.”

Make It Personal

February 7, 2017

Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.”

In life, we need the help of Christ to stay focused, so make His Word personal. Say the verse above, Colossians 3:17 by using your name and personal pronouns. An example is below.

Whatever (your name) does in word or in deed, let me do all in the name of Jesus and give thanks to God my Father through Jesus.

Transformation

February 6, 2017

Being willing to let the Lord change us is an important part of our growth. In Romans 12:1-2, God tells us three things on how we can partner with Him for internal and external change. 1) Present your life, your work and your ministry to Him, 2) Don’t follow the pattern of the world, as you might miss out on the radical changes He wants for you and 3) Renew your mind. This can be done by staying in the Scriptures and praying.

Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Sing Unto the Lord

February 5, 2017

Psalms 27:6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

Isaiah 12:5 Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this [is] known in all the earth.

Psalms 104:33 I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

Judges 5:3 Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.

Psalms 96:1 O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

Psalm 95:1-2 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

Pray for Unity

January 21, 2017

As a Christian it is our responsibility to pray for our leaders. Some people are happy that Donald Trump is our president and some people are not happy, but the Bible says to pray for those who have authority over us. We need to pray that God will give President Trump and Vice President Pence wisdom to lead America in the right direction. Only God can bring peace and prosperity to our country. Let us join together in prayer for all our government leaders and that our country will reunite in peace.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Do You Feel Safe?

January 7, 2017

Do you feel safe? Everyday there is some news of tragedy. Yesterday, in Florida there was a shooting in the Ft. Lauderdale airport when travelers went to pick up their luggage from a flight they were on. Five deaths and many injuries. Traffic accidents, drive by shootings, robberies and many more dangers are heard about everyday.

Should we as Christians allow fear to rule our lives. NO!! The Bible tells us in both the Old and New Testament to “fear not” over 100 times. God wants us to put our trust in Him. Do bad things happen to good people? Absolutely, but God promises to bring us through all circumstances. Safety is of the Lord.

Psalms 118:6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Psalms 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
