The Bible

February 25, 2016

“THE BIBLE IS THE ONLY THING YOU CAN TRUST IN THIS CHANGING WORLD!” This is a quote from a church sign but so true. The world around us may be changing faster than we ever expected but the Bible is always true, consistent and our handbook to get through the changes in the world situation and even the changes in our personal lives.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Prayer Requests

February 24, 2016

Some days are busier than others. Today, SOS Events ministry has many things going on at the same time and could use the prayers of everyone who reads the blog.

The Wednesday morning Flea Market in Plant City, Fl will be having people witnessing. Need prayers for the workers and especially that souls will be saved.

In the home office there is a training scheduled for people who want to learn to win souls. Pray for the teacher and future soul winners.

Also, the Strawberry Festival booth needs to be cleaned and decorated today for that event that begins next week. Two of our faithful workers will be doing that task this morning. Strawberry Festival  lasts for eleven days, twelve hours per day and the booth has to have twelve workers per day. There is still a need for workers and the office staff is working diligently to fill each slot with phone calls and emails. Prayer needed for workers and souls to be saved at this event.

The devil always tries to stop soul winning events and SOS Events founder Tom Curtis is having some health issues which require many doctor appointments at this busy time of year, which hinders Carolyn, his wife and himself for full attention to the ministry. He needs your prayers for complete healing of a wound on his left leg so they can put their energy into what they love, soul winning.

The Bible says to pray for one another and we ask that you bring these requests to God for us especially today and we will give God all the glory for the great answers to your prayers.

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Everyday With Jesus

February 23, 2016

There is a short little song that can lift your spirits and help you realize how sweet it is to walk with Jesus everyday. He has saved us, is keeping us and is coming again to take us to be with Him forever.

Every day with Jesus

Is sweeter than the day before

Every day with Jesus

I love Him more and more.

Jesus saves and keeps me

And He’s the one I’m waiting for

Every day with Jesus

Is sweeter than the day before

Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Jesus, Our Pilot

February 22, 2016

Have you ever been on an airplane when the weather was bad? Maybe it is stormy with rain, thunder and lightning. You along with the other passengers are frightened. The plane even drops a few feet and some of your seat mates even let out a little scream. Now the fear even becomes greater, then the pilot takes the plane to a higher level and all of a sudden you are above the clouds looking down.

From this height you see the sunshine. Those dark clouds that frightened you just minutes before now look beautiful. Looking on them now they are fluffy and white. What is the difference? The pilot took the plane above the storm. He was there all the time and knew exactly what to do and how to get you through the storm.

Jesus is the Christian’s pilot. He knows the storm you may be going through. He is there all the time. Directing your path. He can go with you through the storm and will take you through it until you reach the sunshine and He will show you the beauty that comes after the storm passes.

Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Favorite Bible Verse

February 21, 2016

Do you have a favorite Bible verse? Every Christian should have a life verse or a scripture that in good times or trials that verse or section of scripture will come to mind to help and comfort or help you rejoice.

My favorite is Proverbs 3:5&6. These two verses have guided me through many things in life and always remind me to trust in the Lord and He will direct and bring me through.

What is your favorite? You can comment on the blog and give your verse there. We would love to know what scripture that you love.

Proverbs 3:5&6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Will There Be Any Stars in Your Crown?

February 20, 2016

1 Peter 5:4  And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

I am thinking today of that beautiful land

I shall reach when the sun goeth down;

When through wonderful grace by my Savior I stand,

Will there be any stars in my crown?

Refrain:

Will there be any stars, any stars in my crown

When at evening the sun goeth down?

When I wake with the blest in the mansions of rest

Will there be any stars in my crown?

In the strength of the Lord let me labor and pray,

Let me watch as a winner of souls,

That bright stars may be mine in the glorious day,

When His praise like the sea billow rolls.

(refrain)

O what joy it will be when His face I behold,

Living gems at his feet to lay down!

It would sweeten my bliss in the city of gold,

Should there be any stars in my crown.

(refrain)

High King of heaven, my victory won,

May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,

Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

Will we have a soul winners crown with the stars of the ones we have led to the Lord?

SOS Events Spanish Ministry

February 18, 2016

Soul winning and teaching others to win souls is the main purpose of SOS Events ministry. It is a great joy to see people come to know the Lord through the various events that take place.

God is richly blessing with many Spanish speaking people in our area coming to the Lord. Pastor Romero and his team go the Lakeland Flea Market every Sunday and turned in 89 decision slips this week. Those results were for several Sundays.

The Bible says to go into all the world and preach the gospel but in Florida many from other countries come to us. To God be the Glory!

Mark 16:15  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Word Study

February 17, 2016

Have you ever done a word study in the Bible? Maybe it is something you are thinking about or have an interest in. Love is a great one to start with. Go to a concordance or download a Bible on your computer and just type in a word in the search option.

Sleep is my word study today, probably because it is difficult to stay asleep because of a cough. Just a few verses to help you realize what a neat way to study God’s Word.

Genesis 2:21-22 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

Proverbs 3:24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

1 Thessalonians 4:14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

The Wedding

February 16, 2016

The Bible tells us that we Christians are the bride of Christ. That may be a hard concept for some to understand. Think about a wedding. The groom loves the bride and she loves him. The bride has on beautiful apparel. She is beautiful.

They vow to love and to cherish, for better or for worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health till death do they part. It is a choice she makes when she says “I do or I will” take this man to be my husband.

We made a choice when we accepted Jesus to be our Savior. As His beloved we should vow to love Him, cherish Him, for better or worse, in sickness and in health until He comes to take us to be with Him. Just as marriage has its joys and sorrows, so the Christian life has its joys and trials also. The good news is that He is always with us. He will never leave or forsake us and He is waiting to welcome us to His wedding feast.

Revelation 19:7  Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
