Today, as we celebrate 250 years of our nation’s history, we have much to be thankful for. America has been richly blessed with freedoms that many around the world can only dream about. We have the freedom to worship, to share the Gospel, to open God’s Word, and to tell others about the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
These blessings did not happen by accident. Throughout our history, God has shown His mercy and His hand of protection upon this nation. While America has certainly faced trials and made mistakes, the Lord has continued to bless us in countless ways.
As believers, we have a responsibility. If we want God’s continued blessing upon our homes, our churches, and our nation, we must put Him first in our lives. Revival does not begin in Washington—it begins in our own hearts. When we seek the Lord, obey His Word, and live for His glory, we become lights in a world that desperately needs Him.
On this Independence Day, let us thank God for those who have sacrificed to preserve our freedom. More importantly, let us thank Him for the greatest freedom of all—the freedom found in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and rose again so that we could be forgiven and have eternal life.
As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, may we pray that our nation will once again honor God, stand upon His truth, and seek His wisdom. The future of America will always be brightest when we remember that our greatest hope is not found in government, wealth, or power, but in the Lord.
Happy 250th Birthday, America! May God continue to bless our nation as we seek to put Him first.
