The Book Of The Bible To Read For Wisdom!

May 21, 2025

Keeping in mind that all Scripture is given by the inspiration of God, the Book of Proverbs is designed to make us contemplate the fear of God and living by His wisdom.

The word “proverb” means “to be like”. Proverbs is a book of comparisons between common, concrete images and life’s most profound truths. Proverbs are simple, moral statements or illustrations that highlight and teach fundamental realities about life.

Take time to read the book of Proverbs in the Bible to gain wisdom in your relationship to God, yourself and to others.

Do You Need A Change In Your Life?

May 20, 2025

How can we change ourselves? We can be transformed. Everything we do starts in our mind. What we think about is how we act and what we do.

We can change by changing how we think. If we think worldly thoughts we will act worldly.

What do we put in our minds everyday? News, TV, social media, entertainment and other things that cloud our minds with distractions that can led us into sin.

We can stop how we think and be transformed by renewing what we put into our mind.

The best place to start is daily Bible reading and prayer. Then stop whatever we are listening to, reading or watching things that do not bring right thought into our mind. Will it be easy? No. Can it be done? Yes. Ask God to help us in think on good things.

Plant City Car Show

May 19, 2025
Heath, Kevin and Tom

A special Thank You to these 3 SOS Events volunteers who went to the Car Show on Saturday.

The Lord blessed them with 1 precious person who trusted Jesus as their Savior.

It takes great dedication to get the car ready for the car show. Heath came and got the car from the SOS Events property. Then drove it to Plant City and back to the property again.

Several men have volunteered to take turns driving to the monthly car show as well as other events in the area.

The next car show is scheduled for May 24 at Bay Life Church in Brandon. Please pray for the volunteers and especially for souls to be saved.

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Luke 15:7

Jesus Gives Strength To His Children

May 17, 2025

Paul tells us in the book of Philippians that he went through many trials and afflictions, and whatever happened to him good or bad he can trust Jesus to give him strength.

That is true today. If we trust Jesus, He will give us strength to do whatever He wants us to do.

Plant City, Florida Flea Market

May 16, 2025

What a blessing the Florida SOS Team are. As the temperature rises it is more difficult to work at events. Sometimes in the spring and summer the temperature reaches in the 90’s but these faithful volunteers still work diligently to see soul saved.

This week there were 3 people who trusted Jesus as their Savior at the Flea Market.

Please pray for the volunteers, for good weather and most importantly for people to come to know the Lord at upcoming events.

The weekly Flea Market and several Car Shows that are scheduled.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

A Prayer That We Should Pray Daily!

May 15, 2025

This verse can become your prayer for yourself each day.

We want to please the LORD in everything we do and say. The problem is we cannot please Him unless He helps us.

Our words comes from our heart the Bible says “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man” (Matthew 15:18)

James 3:11 tells us that we speak both sweet and bitter words. So, how can we please God when in ourselves we cannot control what and how we speak?

The key is in the verse in Psalms, our words comes from our heart. We need to have a pure heart.

If we have a problem with harsh words, cursing, gossiping, yelling or lying, all sins that does not please God, we need to confess that sin, ask Jesus for a heart that is pure. Meditate on His Word, ask Him to help us when we fail. Jesus is our strength and our redeemer!

Remembering Tom Curtis

May 14, 2025

Today is the 9th anniversary of the day Tom Curtis went “home” to be with his Lord, Jesus.

Tom was a man who had many trials in his life, but he did endure like this verse tells us.

His legacy is the thousands of people who were touched by SOS Events Ministry. He had a heart to see people come to Jesus to be saved from their sin.

As we reflect on the memories about Tom, pray that we will honor him by Serving Our Savior and continue to win people to the Lord.

SOS Events Interns

May 12, 2025

SOS Events has an intern program for students who desire to work in an office. They learn skills that they can use to help them in the workplace later in their life.

Stephanie was one of the girls who worked as an intern in 2020.

She has since graduated from high school, got a degree in nursing administration, and will start her new job soon.

Stephanie had this to say about her time spent with SOS Events, “I learned that I did not have to do anything myself, but that God would guide me. I got confidence that I did not have in the 6 months I was working here.”

Please pray for Stephanie and the other young people that SOS Events has had the privilege of having an impact on over the years.

There have been many teens who have learned to be a witness for the LORD and some have gone on to become Christian workers in church and missions.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
