Talladega NASCAR race was held over the weekend. The races are exciting but even more exhilarating is the decisions made with the SOS Events team in Alabama. Thirty decisions for Christ were recorded and decision cards turned in. Our team leader, Patty, stated that there were actually more people who prayed to receive The Lord but were in too much of a hurry to fill out a card. Also, several people were trained to work with SOS and they participated in the event. Any event can be turned into a soul winning opportunity. The Talladega Race was a first for SOS Events.

A prominent Christian and friend of SOS Events went to visit a church and the Pastor introduced him and his wife. A woman sitting next to the wife turned and said, “If I knew you were someone important I would have talked to you.”
This is sad but true. Christian are you friendly to others when they are in your midst? The Bible tells us to be no respecter of persons.
Acts 10:34
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Hebrews 13:2
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers:for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

God worked mightily at the fair with 110 salvations and 105 assurances and within the hearts of our workers, setting several them on fire for winning souls to Christ – Praise the Lord!!

John R. Rice was a great preacher, teacher, author, song writer, evangelist and most of all a soul winner. He has been in Heaven since 1980 but his work for the Lord continues to this day. One of his favorite Bible verses:

Things to do to have a strong family
Be Godly Parents
Consistent
Listen
Discipline without rejection
Parents love one another
Don’t play favorites
Admit failures
Pray together
Read Bible together
Encourage private devotions
Attend church together
Explain how to handle money
Discourage criticism
Share heartaches, problems and trials (age appropriate)
Don’t avoid hard questions
Build Biblical convictions
Spend time with your children
Encourage your children
Plan fun things together
Willing to ask forgiveness
When a problem comes don’t take sides
Always be honest with your family
Be a refuge for one another
What about a broken home?
Blended family
Stay physically and emotionally close to your children
Increase your time of prayer and Scripture reading
Remind them that trusting God is more important than ever before
Encourage with a verse of Scripture every morning

Sometimes in life we feel like we go one step forward and two steps back. God never promised the Christian an easy life but He did promise to go with us through every trial. When we accept Jesus as our Savior we receive the Holy Spirit who is our Comforter. Be encouraged, we are never alone or forsaken.
John 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
