Creator

April 15, 2016

Our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Great Creator, God himself. As I sit by the bedside of my very ill spouse I can view with wonder how our bodies react to heal themselves. The doctors have even given God the Glory for the resilience in the body. We have seen many small miracles.

Just think, when you cut your finger or maybe break a bone in your arm or leg then a few weeks later everything is back to normal. You may have a scar from the cut or a slight limp from the break but you are back to being able to function normally.

Sin is like that. When we sin and ask forgiveness, God forgives completely, however, there may be a “scar”. A broken marriage leaves children with only one parent in the home, theft may bring jail time, drinking may cause illness or death and on it goes. Are we forgiven? Absolutely! God not only created our wonderful body He made a way to be forgiven of all our sins through trusting in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

What Are You Living For?

October 17, 2015

“Are the things you are living for…worth Christ dying for?” Adrian Rogers

Recently in conversation, several people have said they need to get rid of “stuff” they have accumulated over the years. It is so easy to allow small things to overtake space in our homes or even our workplace.

What about the “suff” we allow to overtake our hearts and minds? Bad habits, little sins, unforgiveness, anger, sinful movies or tv, anything not pleasing to God. Just like we need to clean out our homes we need to clean out our hearts.

Jesus died for all our sins and He is the heart cleaner. If you are a Christian, ask for His forgiveness and allow Him through the Holy Spirit to take away the “stuff” in your life.

If you have never become a Christian, the first thing is to admit to Jesus your sin, ask Him to forgive you. Jesus died on the cross, shead His precious blood so you could be saved, then He rose again on the third day. If you believe that with all your heart and invite Him to be your Savior, He promises that your sins will be forgiven.

Ephesians 4:31-32  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Testimony

August 26, 2015

Everyone who works with SOS Events Ministry gives us their testimony in writing.

One young man told us he didn’t have a testimony. We ask him if he was saved, was he born again?

He said yes he was saved and he knew for sure he was on his way to heaven.

This is his story:

One Sunday he was walking by a church and heard music. He had been thinking about some of the things that he had done that he was sorry for and he felt guilty in his heart. He decided to go in the church to find out if he could be forgiven.

An usher was standing inside the door and asked the young man if he could help him.

“Yes, the young man said, I need to be forgiven.”

The usher took the young man into a little room where he explained the plan of salvation and the young man was wonderfully saved.

No testimony? That is one of the greatest testimonies that we have heard.

Do you have a testimony you would like to share with others? We would love to hear it. Send us an email and we may post it or put it in our monthly newsletter. Info@sosevents.org.

God’s Forgiveness

August 9, 2015

Forgiveness is based on the atoning work of the Cross, and not on anything we do. God’s forgiveness does not depend on our confession, nor does His fellowship. Confession is a means for releasing us from the tension and bondage of a guilty conscience.”Dr. Charles Stanley

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Forgiveness

June 25, 2015

“God sometimes uses things he hates to accomplish things he loves.”

This is a quote from one of the granddaughters of a man that was murdered in   Charleston, SC. What a testimony to the world of how a Christian should react to tragedy.

The families of the 9 people who were shot by an evil young man have shown love and forgiveness to the one who killed their loved ones. They have followed the example of JESUS who when He was dying on the cross said, “Father, forgive them.”

Luke 23:34  Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.
