My Jesus I Love You!

July 29, 2022

1 My Jesus, I love thee, I know thou art mine;
for thee all the follies of sin I resign;
my gracious Redeemer, my Savior art thou;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

2 I love thee because thou hast first loved me
and purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree;
I love thee for wearing the thorns on thy brow;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

3 I’ll love thee in life, I will love thee in death,
and praise thee as long as thou lendest me breath,
and say when the deathdew lies cold on my brow:
If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

4 In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I’ll ever adore thee in heaven so bright;
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow:
If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now

This is an old hymn written many years ago by a young man, William Featherston, only 16 years old. What a great gift to future generations.

However, today in many churches the old hymns with heartfelt meaning are no longer sung. How sad.

Can you join with me an say “my Jesus, I love you.” He loves you.

Have A Blessed Sunday

July 24, 2022

Sunday is a wonderful day to Praise the Lord! It is not the only day we should worship. Everyday of the week we should be reading our Bible, praying and praising God for all He has done for us.

Bible Studies!

July 20, 2022

If you have not done Porter Barrington Bible Studies you are missing a great opportunity to learn more about the Bible, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Start today to study God’s Word.

Every person who makes a decision to follow Jesus at a SOS Events venue, receives a Bible study to start their new life with Christ. It is very important that we grow in knowledge and understanding.

May God Bless You Today!

July 17, 2022

If you know and serve the Lord, Jesus, you will have riches that are worth much more than money.

Peace, joy and eternal life is for everyone who trusts Jesus as their Savior.

What Do You Need?

July 15, 2022

What do you need? Food, clothing, shelter? God promises to provide our needs, not necessarily our wants.

Seek Him first in every choice you make. He does provide our needs and because He is so good He often provides our desires.

Jesus is the One you are looking for.

Choices

July 12, 2022

We make choices every day. We choose what we wear and what we eat. Where we go. We can choose to be happy, sad or grumpy.

The most important choice we will ever make is to accept Jesus as our Savior. The next choice is a daily one, serve the Lord today in our speech and action.

Choose today. Who will you serve?

Rejoice in The Lord!

July 11, 2022

Can you rejoice when things go wrong? Sickness, death of a loved one, loss of job, children on drugs or some other tragedy in your life. YES!

We don’t rejoice about the situation we are in, we rejoice that we have a Savior, Jesus, who walks through the problem with us.

It is ok to cry and even ask why, but we should never forget that God is there.

You may be questioning how I would know. I have been through many tragedies in my life time, the death of 2 sons, a grandchild and 2 wonderful husbands.

Tears and mourning, of course, but God is good. His love and mercy are always there.

Midweek. How Is Your Day?

July 6, 2022

Wednesday, the middle of the week. Have you had a good week so far?

Maybe you’ve had a great week or it may have been terrible.

However your week is going there is one thing that the Bible tells us to do. Rejoice!

It is easy to rejoice when things are going great, but not so easy when there are trials and trouble.

God‘s word tells us to rejoice. It is a decision. We can make up our mind to rejoice regardless of the situation. Try it. God is with you and he will never let you down.

Family!

June 27, 2022

You may be from a very large family or a small one, but being part of a family is a great blessing.

Family sticks together through good times and bad. Someone is there to be with you to join in laughter or tears. Siblings have a special bond that should last for a lifetime.

Maybe you are an only child or have had what seems to be an unrepairable disagreement with a family member.

Good news! If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are in the family of God and you have a friend that is closer than a brother. Jesus is with you always and you can go to Him with your joys and sorrows.

Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Are You Growing?

June 24, 2022

When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are no longer the person we were. Our sins have been forgiven and we should be changing and growing.

Old sinful habits should be distasteful to us. Maybe it is bad language, temper, an unforgiving spirit or some other sin that we need to get rid of.

As we read the Bible, listen to godly music, go to a good church where the preacher speaks the truth from God’s Word or it may be that still small voice in our heart. These things help us to grow and become that new person God wants us to be.

So the question is, Are you growing?
