When And How We Speak

April 20, 2022

The Bible tells us a lot about how and when we should speak.

Proverbs 21 gives great advice, we will stay out of trouble if we keep our mouth shut. Angry? Sop! Say nothing. Wait and allow time to cool off before we address the subject.

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

James 1:26 – If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

1 Peter 3:10 – For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

These are great verses, and there are many more, that teach us to be careful how and when to speak. God will bless us abundantly if we can ask Him to help us to speak kind, encouraging words.

The Tomb Was Sealed

April 16, 2022

Jesus is dead. The tomb is sealed. The disciples are in shock and grief. Is there no hope?

The days between the crucifixion and resurrection must have been really hard for the followers of Jesus. The One they had put their trust in, the One who was going to be King. Confused, sorrowful and disappointed they probably did nothing. Some waited together and others waited alone. People react differently when someone they love dies.

Today there are many people who have the same reaction to Jesus. Some doubt. Some do not believe in Him. Others reject Him. They do not realize what He can do for them.

Today is the day before Resurrection Sunday. Are you like these people or are you excited about tomorrow? The tomb did not stay sealed. The stone rolled away and JESUS arose. Let us celebrate the glorious resurrection not only tomorrow but everyday. JESUS lives…

Mark 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

Jesus Shows Displeasure!

April 11, 2022

Jesus has a busy day after His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. He went into the temple and cast out the money changers and merchants, who had turned the place of worship into a marketplace.

Then He was walking with His disciples and saw a fig tree with no figs. He then made the fig tree wither so it never again would bear fruit.

Do we ever do anything in our lives to cause Jesus to be displeased with us? Christian, think about it. Jesus loves us and our salvation is secure if we have accepted Him as our Savior, however, we can do things in our lives that may cause Jesus displeasure. Today, let us confess our sins. He is faithful and just to forgive our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

1 Juan 1:9

Palm Sunday!

April 10, 2022

Today is what we call Palm Sunday. It is the day that the Bible tells us Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a small donkey.

People shouted and laid palm branches in His path. They shouted and honored Him. Hosanna!

Then a few days later the same crowd shouted, Crucially Him!

What do we do with Jesus? Are we worshiping Him or do we turn our backs on Him and in our heart are like that crowd.

On this Palm Sunday, if you have not made Jesus you Lord and King, ask Him to forgive your sin and accept Him as your Savior.

Move On!

April 6, 2022

Sometimes we let things in our past keep us from moving forward.

The sins, the tragedy or poor relationships keep reoccurring in our mind and we feel depressed or unable to do what we know we should to get on with our life today.

God does not want us to dwell in the past. He has forgiven all our past sin, He wants to comfort our broken heart and heal relationships that have been ruined by pride or unforgiveness..

If anything is keeping you from a joyful, productive life give all of the past to Jesus and move on.

Philippians 3:13-14

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Filipenses 3:13-14

Our Words Are Powerful!

April 5, 2022

There is a little figurine of 3 monkeys, the first has his hands over his eyes, the second, hands over his ears, and the third, his hands over his mouth.

See no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. Good advice for us. If we are careful what we watch and hear we will think before we speak.

The Bible tells us what we speak comes from what we meditate about in our heart. Hid God’s Word in our hearts and our speech will be pleasing to Him as well as to those we are speaking to.

What Do You Think About?

March 30, 2022

How Do You Think?

Sometimes we cannot see good in the situation we are in. Maybe it’s illness, accident, loss of a loved one. In our finite minds we can not understand why things are happening to us..
But, GOD will turn even the worst tragedies in our lives into something good if we will trust Him to bring it to pass. It may take time. Even months or years. Then we look back and we can see how He uses these tests in our lives and turns them into testimonies.

What we think about controls how we live and react to every situation in our lives.
God tells us in His Word what we should think about.
If we think about things that make us not trust God, we become worried and fearful.
One verse tells us how to overcome anxiety. Let us decide today to think on good things and ask God to help us to think about the things in this verse that will bring peace and joy into our lives.

When we praise God. He will show up. When He shows up, it will change our thinking. If we change our thoughts, we change our life.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

Pray for Pastors

March 27, 2022

Pastors have burdens that are far above the average Christian. They need to be renewed by the Spirit everyday. Family, church congratulation, administration and many things that are heavy on their hearts, especially at this difficult time in the world.

Your Pastor has to make hard decisions about when to open doors of the church to everyone, should we sing, should we have class, what about the children. I need to protect my family.

Please lift your Pastor in prayer. And really bless him by asking what you can do to help. A kind word or a note might make the difference in his life today.

Do You Have A Conversation With GOD?

March 25, 2022
Isaias 64:24

Billy Graham said, “Prayer is simply a two-way conversation between you and God.”

How often do we have a conversation with God? His desire is to have fellowship with us. What a blessing to be able to talk to The Creator anywhere, anyplace or anytime. He cares about us. What a friend! What a Savior! He answers our prayer.

Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Who Do You Walk With?

March 23, 2022

Who we walking with? The Bible tells us to have wisdom about who are friends are.

Do you seek out people in your life who lead you in the right direction morally, spiritually and physically? Or do you choose to hang around those people who will drag you down?

This verse tells us exactly how we should walk and most importantly that we should walk with God. Today let us choose to walk in the path that GOD directs us.
