God’s Creation

June 24, 2016

Traveling through several different states in the car and having theopportunity to see how wonderful and diverse God’s creation is, makes me appreciate the beauty of His handiwork.
Florida has its beautiful sandy beaches, Tennessee with its many lakes and hills, Kentucky has wonderful grazing land for horses, Ohio with its quaint barns, and New York rural areas with its lush green mountains makes me realize how great God is. He made everything beautiful for us to enjoy. Sometimes we get so busy we forget to look around and take time to appreciate all that God has done for us. Today stop for just a minute and look around at the beauty. Maybe just a small thing like a flower, a butterfly or just watch bees collecting pollen. God is great in the big things He created but He is just as great in the small things.

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Worldly Christians

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Pride

April 25, 2016

“Pride is like summertime–always followed by a fall”

Funny church signs but so true. The Bible says:

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

God Is

April 11, 2016

All knowing John 16:30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things

All powerful Luke 9:43 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God.

Always present Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Always truthful Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Always the same Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not;

Judge Not

April 5, 2016

“Before you judge someone else, stop and think about all that God has forgiven you for.”

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Wait on the Lord

April 2, 2016

“I don’t understand it. The stint that I put in is nonviable. There is no blood going through it at all, but your leg is warm, there is no swelling, blood is flowing and your incisions are healing.” spoken by Tom’s surgeon this week. Then he went on to explain how over the months the little vessels have expanded and taken over the blood flow of the vein that has been removed. There are no main veins going to the lower leg and foot and still the circulation is improving.

Then the great statement from a doctor that is not a Christian. “Only God could have done that. He created your body to compensate for the loss.”

Sometimes we wonder why things happen and why it take so long to see results of prayer. It took months for those little vessels to expand. Ordinarily they would have burst like a balloon with too much air but instead they expanded. God is healing but on His timetable not ours. Waiting is always hard but God is in control.

Please pray for Tom that healing will complete. There is still several months of treatment and some plastic surgery in the future. Also, pray for this doctor and the plastic surgeon to be saved.

Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Grandchildren

March 28, 2016

Grandchildren are a wonderful blessing from the Lord. Yesterday there were many family pictures posted on Facebook and other media of our family dressed for Easter. The children looked happy and excited. The little girls looked beautiful and the boys handsome. What a blessing that they could enjoy the freedom to worship at church, eat candy from their Easter baskets and enjoy time with their families doing fun things together.

Our world is changing and the future for the young ones is uncertain, but the one thing that is certain and unchanging is that each of the grandchildren will be with us in heaven if they trust Jesus as their Savior. (Thankfully most of them have already done that)

Proverbs 17:6 Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

John Adams Quote

March 25, 2016

“Without religion this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in polite company, I mean Hell.”

JOHN ADAMS, letter to Thomas Jefferson, Apr. 19, 1817

Quote by John Adams 2nd President of the United States of America. He may not have been a born again Christian but he did honor God as did most of the founding Fathers. He believed in freedom “of” religion not freedom “from” religion. We need to get back to honoring God in our country once again.

1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Crown of Thorns

March 21, 2016

Matthew 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
