Today we honor our military. God has blessed America with freedom for over 200 years. Men have fought and died for the freedom we so richly enjoy. This weekend pray for those that are even now putting their lives on the line so we can pray, have freedom of speech and all the other things we enjoy. Pray for our country and leaders for wisdom to stand against those who would love to take away what our brave men and women fought and died for. God bless America.

May 24, 2013The last few weeks we have heard politicians say, “What difference does it make?”
There is a story about a little boy walking on the beach picking up starfish and throwing them back into the water.
An old man came along and asked the boy, “Why are you throwing those starfish back in, there are hundreds of them, so what difference does it make.”
The little boy picked up one more and thew it in, then said to the old man, ” It makes a difference to that one.”
Every person that hears and accepts the Gospel is on the way to Heaven, and it makes a difference to that one.
This is a holiday weekend, why not make a difference in someone’s life and tell them about The Lord Jesus.

He was the founder of the Salvation Army. In those days he took people to the streets to witness for The Lord. His desire was to see souls saved. Oh that we as Christians would have that same desire today. SOS can teach you how to witness to others both one on one and at events.

SeniorServants
May 3, 2013Yesterday SOS had a great day with our Senior Servants. This group of ladies from several different churches in the area come to the property once a month and work on projects necessary to helping SOS get out the gospel. Sometimes they’ll put tracts in baggies, or stuff envelopes for mailings. Various jobs that are important to the ministry.
We always have prayer, which is our most important need.
Lunch is the highlight of the morning with a different theme each month. May was a tea. Delicious.
If you know anyone in the Tampa Bay Area who would enjoy working in the ministry once a month call our office 813-494-7927. We have several ladies who are not yet senior citizens and our oldest senior is 94 years of age.
SOS can also use male volunteers. Lunch is always provided.

April 25, 2013SOS tries to be a good steward of God’s money. A new desk was needed for the ministry. We found one on Craig’s list for $20. When we went to pick it up the 2 people who sold it to us offered to load it in the truck.
Tom asked Candy if she would like to know the 3 things God can not do and she hesitated.
Then Tom turned to Curtis and asked him if he would like to know.
Curtis said, “Yes”.
Tom then continued on with the gospel presentation and both Candy and Curtis trusted The Lord for salvation. What a joy to be used to bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus.

Weekends
April 20, 2013How do you spend your weekend? The teams from SOS spend Saturday and part of Sunday after church winning souls to Christ. We are praying for these teams as they labor in the marketplace every weekend.
God is pleased with Christians who spend their “free time” witnessing for Him.
More workers are needed. As summer approaches there are many events where a booth could be set up. SOS wants YOU.
