Stand Fast

July 1, 2014

20140701-074322-27802100.jpg
Thankfully the founding fathers of the USA were willing to stand for freedom and rights of the citizens of our country.
The Supreme Court made the right decision in the Hobby Lobby case yesterday. Employers have the right to reject a health plan that is against their religious beliefs if you are unfamiliar with the case.
This is 4th of July week and we as Christians must stand up for principles set forth not only in our Constitutional rights but in our Biblical rights.
Don’t be a Christian who falls for anything.

2 Thessalonians 2:15
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

Too Busy?

June 27, 2014

“We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services but few conversions; much machinery but few results.” ~R.A. Torrey
Most Christians fall into this category today, unfortunately. In our churches we see very few conversions, in ministry there are few people that are willing to spend even three or four hours a week or even a month to go to the marketplace to witness to the lost.
Someday we will be judged for what we have done for The Lord. Will we hear “Well done” or will our works be counted as wood hay and stubble and be cast into the fire?
When we stand before Him, will our excuse be, “I was too busy”?
The is always room for dedicated Christians to Serve Our Savior with SOS Events. All it takes is a email info@sosevents.org.

1 Corinthians 3:12-15
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest:for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss:but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Salvation, Then Change

June 22, 2014

“Practically every false doctrine comes from getting things out of order. God’s divine order is salvation, then change; not change and then salvation! If one has to be changed to be saved, that’s salvation by works. It is also salvation by the flesh. The truth is, one is cleansed from the sins of the flesh just as he is saved; by yielding to the Holy Spirit and letting Him do His work.” ~Jack Hyles
When witnessing we often hear excuses why a person can not be saved now. A common excuse is “I need to quit _____________ before I can be saved.
(You fill in the blank)
Have you ever heard the expression, Putting the card before the horse?
The above quote is exactly right. A person is never good enough to be saved, that is why Jesus died to pay for our sins. When witnessing pray that the Holy Spirit will convict the person to understand that salvation is by accepting Christ, not by changing their lifestyle.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Jesus Loves Me

June 20, 2014

The hymn that has influenced children for Christ more than any other is this simply stated one, “Jesus Loves Me.”
Anna Bartlett Warner wrote this text in 1860 with her sister, Susan, as a part of one of the best-selling novels of that day. The novel was written by Susan, entitled “Say and Seal”.
In the novel, one of the characters, Mr. Linden, comforted Johnny Fax, a dying child, with the words of “Jesus Loves Me.”

(1) Jesus loves me! this I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak but He is strong.

CHORUS: Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

(2) Jesus loves me! He who died
Heaven’s gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

(3) Jesus, take this heart of mine,.
Make it pure and wholly Thine;
On the cross You died for me,
I will try to live for Thee.

Ephesians 5:2
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Are You To Busy?

June 18, 2014

“We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services but few conversions; much machinery but few results.” ~R.A. Torrey
Individuals today are too busy to serve God. SOS needs people to go into the marketplace to win souls to The Lord. We are thankful for the dedicated people who do go, but if there were Christians who would go just 5 hours a week or a month hundreds more lost souls could be saved.
Churches are also guilty of being too busy. They have programs instead of power, preaching instead of prayer ( nothing wrong with preaching, but where have the old time prayer meetings gone). Forty percent of fundamental churches that do not see even one soul save in a year.
Are you too busy to hand out a tract, pray for someone in need, visit the sick, encourage someone who needs a friend, witness to your neighbor or stop and talk to The Lord in true worship?
We need to spend our time wisely. Once it is gone we cannot reclaim it.

John 9:4
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day:the night cometh, when no man can work.

Just As I Am

June 11, 2014

Are you ever frustrated that you can’t do more for Jesus? That you don’t have anything special to offer?

Charlotte Elliott, the author of the hymn, “Just As I Am,” certainly felt that way. She had been a brilliant and vivacious woman until an illness left her an invalid. Her situation left her quite depressed. She felt that she no longer had anything to offer — nothing to give.

But a pastor, Dr. Caesar Malan, came to visit her. Noting her despair, he encouraged her to give Christ her life — to come to Christ just as she was. That comment started a turnaround for her. While she remained an invalid, she began to search for ways to make her life meaningful.

And Dr. Malan’s words stayed with her — “Come to Christ just as you are.” Several years later, she wrote this hymn, which has become a favorite around the world. While she wrote more than a hundred hymns, this one in particular has affected more lives than she ever could have imagined.

So if you ever wonder what you can do to make your life meaningful, just put it in Christ’s hands and go where he leads. Christ has a way of using ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Liberty

June 10, 2014

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
― Benjamin Franklin, Memoirs of the life & writings of Benjamin Franklin
In America we are giving up our liberties everyday and as a nation we are becoming weaker. We as citizens must stand for our rights as granted by our forefathers in the Constitution. God should be honored in public events, graduations, sporting events, etc. America was a strong Godly nation until one woman decided that prayer should be taken out of the schools. It is not “politically correct” to mention God anymore. We need to wake up and stand up for our freedom and liberty and it begins by giving God the honor He deserves.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is that Spirit:and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Opportunity

June 7, 2014

“Your big opportunity may be right where you are now.”
Napoleon Hill
There are opportunities to serve The Lord with SOS Events winning people to Christ where you live. Summertime is a great season for soul winning. Yard sales, farmers markets, social gatherings in your town.
All you need is the guidance of the Holy Spirit, some training, a display board, some tracts and 3 willing people and you can see many souls get saved. Don’t miss this opportunity. The rewards will be in Heaven when The Lord says well done.
Click on the Training Videos on the home page to get started.

Matthew 25:23
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things:enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Pray For The USA

June 4, 2014

“I have wondered at times what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress.”
~ Ronald Reagan
Pray for our country. We need to get back to honoring God.

Psalms 33:12
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord;
and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Noisivelet

May 31, 2014

I am the mirror of the world. No one can match the usefulness I serve.
I am a babysitter, I am an escape from the world, I am a child’s playmate and I am a tool of Satan.
Who am I? My name is Noisivelet.
I in myself am not bad.
In fact I was created for man’s benefit, but somehow all that changed. Where it began I don’t know, but my morals went downhill swiftly.
Once a little sin began being part of me it was as if I dam burst I and my whole being was affected by sin.
I am used by Satan to confuse Christians and to tempt them into longing for worldly pleasures.
Christians can be such hypocrites. They disregard what they call a very important truth in the Bible.
In Matthew 6:33 it’s says: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”
When they watch me they are not seeking God’s kingdom.
What is my effect on the family?
I, Noisivelet have drawn them apart and caused many disputes.
When I am present within a room I command attention. A family can spend an entire evening together in the same room and not once talk to each other. I take the place of importance in children’s lives rather than their parents.
I take priority over a husband or wife in the spouse’s eyes. When I am not in top condition the whole family mourns. Some people go as far as to worship me.
Whatever I say must be right! Others are addicted to me like a drug.
The apostle Paul says in first Corinthians 6:12 “all things are lawful to me, but all things are not expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”
But they are under my power. Their whole life revolves around me and my time schedule. I prevent them from being effective for God by taking away their precious time.
Another of the many useful purposes I serve is to condition people to except immoral relationships and murder as a fact of life which is nothing to be alarmed about. The more Christians see these things, the less it shocks them and the easier they accept sin.
Satan is delighted at the purpose I, Noisivelet, have served to turn you away from God. You may be wondering who I am.
I look very innocent to the unsuspecting person so you may not yet have guessed. “I don’t know you” you say to yourself. But you do know me, better than you think. I am such an intricate part of your life that you just don’t realize the amount of control I have over you.
“Well,” you find yourself arguing, “you can never be used to attack me or my family.” You see you have become very apathetic. Do you know about the things I tell your children? When you leave me alone with them they are fair game for me!
I inform them that their parents don’t have to be obeyed. Obedience is a very old fashion concept that is as out of style as going to church.
They also learn many other useful things from me. “There is nothing wrong with swearing children, everyone does it.
Haven’t you heard your friends, (or even your parents) say a few bad words?”
“Drinking is commonplace. The only way to have fun as an adult is to get drunk or be rich, and you know you’ll never be rich.”
I’ll bet you never realize that I, Noisivelet, was telling your children these things, but I do, and you allow it.
How can you trust me alone with them?!
What about your husband or wife? What do I tell them? It is such fun for me to captivate them with thoughts of immorality and unfaithfulness in marriage.
I tell them that no one is faithful to one person anymore.
Society has moved away from the rigid standards it once had.
Today is a day of openness and freedom in relationships. You must be the only couple in the United States that still follows those old-fashioned ways. What a disappointment you are to your friends. After all you don’t accept the things they do.
What about you? What do I tell you.
“Noisivelet, I don’t know you and I don’t want to” you say. But let’s face it, you do know me and I know you, and what you want to hear what I tell you.
“Your something special you deserve a break, you’re worth it.” All these things I tell you and more. I tell you how much you’re missing in life because of your Christianity.
Why, you don’t even drink a little bit of wine. In Colossians 3:2 it says to set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth, but do you do that?
No, because when you watch me I tell you of all the people in the world that are having more fun, are richer, more famous, better dressed, eat better and live in nicer homes then you do.
I, Noisivelet, fill your mind with thoughts of greed and dissatisfaction with what your life is.
Why don’t you do something about me while you still can? You can make me quiet, you can even remove me from your home. The question is…..are you willing to do this? Can you take the pressure?
Up to this point I have not revealed to you my true identity. You see, I wanted you to think that I don’t sitting your home and tell you and your family lies, but I do.
Take the word Noisivelet and say it backwards, it’s pronounced television. Here is a good illustration of how I see you.

The television is my shepherd, my spiritual life doth want.
It maketh me sit down and do nothing.
It’s seateth me beside men of no faith.
It restoreth my desire for worldly pleasures.
They requireth with all my spare time and keepeth me from doing the will of God, because it presenteth so much foolishness which I must see.
It increaseth my knowledge of nonsense and keepeth me from the study of the word of God.
Yes, though I live to be an hundred, yet the viewing of my television shall have first place in my life as long as it doth operate, for it is my closest companion.
It’s sound and it’s picture, they comfort me.
It presenteth foolishness and folly before me continually and keepeth me from surrendering my whole life to God.
It anoints my mind with seeds of corruptions, and fills my head with vanity, which profiteth me nothing; my cup remains empty.
Surely, no good thing will come of my life, because I am devoted to my television, which leaveth me no time to serve God acceptably; Thus I will dwell in the house of confusion forever.
