JESUS

January 4, 2020

A good way to start the New Year is to honor and worship Jesus. We are going to review some of His names.

JESUS meaning GOD IS SALVATION. Yahweh saves.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.”

Look to Jesus for a Good 2020!

December 31, 2019

New Years Eve 2019…Time to reflect on the year that is ending and look to the New Year ahead. Joys, sorrow, memories and lessons learned in 2019 are now behind. Tomorrow starts a New Year. Time to look forward. It is a good idea to set some goals. Lose weight, do a better job at work, get better grades in school, witness more, help others. Whatever your resolution, keep it. Many of us make resolutions or goals and by January 10th they are already forgotten. The only way to keep our resolutions is to ask Jesus for help and look to Him as our example.

The goal for SOS Events Ministry in 2020 is to win more people to Jesus, get more events in new areas, train more Christians to work at events and Serve Our Savior faithfully. You can help by praying, giving or volunteering. Let us make 2020 the best year ever.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

December 25, 2019

Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

The Best Gift

December 24, 2019

Many people are hustling to finish shopping for gifts, running at a fast pace to get the right present, get them wrapped and ready to see the happiness on the face of the recipient.

In all the preparation one thing is not even thought about. The most important Person, the Lord Jesus.

Christmas is a wonderful time of year but let us not leave out the reason for the season, Jesus. God gave us the most precious gift. We don’t have to shop for it or pay for it. All we have to do is accept it.

Jesus paid the price. If you have not received God’s Gift do it now. Ask Him to forgive your sins, believe He died for you and rose again, and call upon Him to save you. Your new life can begin today!

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Your Gift For JESUS

December 23, 2019

Did you remember to get JESUS the gift He wants for Christmas? Many years ago, a little boy only two or three years old was in a Christmas program at a small church.

I have never forgotten the words this small child spoke on that day.

“I’m not very big

Nor very tall you see

but to the dear Lord Jesus

I give all of me.”

That small child is now a man an has given his life to the Lord working with children and influencing multitudes of lives to give their all to Jesus also.

Have you given all of you to Jesus?

Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest:go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven:and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

No Room

December 19, 2019

Joseph must have been frantically looking for a place to stay for the night. Mary was probably already in labor. She was young, it was her first child and she was going through the same pain in childbirth that every mother has when giving birth. Bethlehem was full of travelers. It was a small village with a very limited number of inns. Maybe only one, and the was no room. The innkeeper took pity on Joseph and Mary and allowed them room in his stable.

Most people look at the innkeeper as unfeeling but if you think about it he really did an act of kindness, plus scripture was being fulfilled.

If the innkeeper had known who was to be born in his stable, maybe he would have given up his own room for JESUS.

JESUS wants the best from us. Our gift to Him this Christmas should be giving Him every room in our heart.

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Gifts

December 13, 2019

The next 11 days for a lot of people will be the busiest time of year preparing for that perfect Christmas gift. Shopping in crowded stores, looking at catalogs, shopping on line.

The best gift you can give anyone is telling them about Jesus. For your unsaved friend, coworker or relative their best gift would be receiving Jesus as their Savior.

For your Christian loved ones a time of fellowship, a phone call or a message. Your time is more precious than any gift you could possibly buy.

Enjoy the Christmas season but don’t forget the best gift ever given…..Jesus.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that HE gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

Jesus, Light of the World

December 8, 2019

Candles are a tradition of Christmas. Before electricity they were used to light Christmas trees, as well as light for the home after dark. Today, we use them as decorations. We scent them with Christmas smells, pine, peppermint and others to make our homes smell like Christmas.

The Christian meaning of the candle is that Jesus is the light of the world. We no longer walk in darkness of sin when we accept Jesus as our Savior.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Candy Cane, Symbol of Christmas

December 6, 2019

In Indiana, a candy maker wanted to make a candy that could be a reminder of Jesus Christ, so he made the Christmas candy cane. He started off with a stick of pure white hard candy. The white color symbolized the virgin birth and the sinless nature of Jesus, and the hard candy symbolized the solid rock which was the foundation of the church, and firmness of the promises of God.

The candy maker made the candy in the form of a J, which represented the name of Jesus and the staff of the Good Shepherds. He then stained it with three stripes which showed the scourging Jesus received, and symbolized the blood shed by Christ on the cross. When you break the cane, it reminds us that Jesus’ body was broken for us.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
