Candles- Symbol of Jesus

December 10, 2024

Candles are a tradition of Christmas. Before electricity they were used to light Christmas trees, as well as light for the home after dark.

Today, we use them as decorations. We scent them with Christmas smells, pine, peppermint and others to make our homes smell like Christmas.

The Christian meaning of the candle is that Jesus is the light of the world. We no longer walk in darkness of sin when we accept Jesus as our Savior.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

God’s Gift To Us!

December 8, 2024

God’s gift to us, JESUS! Today as you go about your Sunday, remember to thank GOD for His gift to us. Without Jesus we would have no hope. no Heaven, no healing, no comfort. Jesus the most wonderful gift!

Story of the Candy Cane

December 7, 2024

In Indiana, a candy maker wanted to make a candy that could be a reminder of Jesus Christ, so he made the Christmas candy cane.

He started off with a stick of pure white hard candy. The white color symbolized the virgin birth and the sinless nature of Jesus, and the hard candy symbolized the solid rock which was the foundation of the church, and firmness of the promises of God.

The candy maker made the candy in the form of a J, which represented the name of Jesus and the staff of the Good Shepherds.

He then stained it with red stripes which showed the scourging Jesus received, and symbolized the blood shed by Christ on the cross.

When you break the cane, it reminds us that Jesus’ body was broken for us.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Symbol of Christmas, The Poinsettia

December 5, 2024

One of the beautiful symbols of Christmas is the pointsettia plant that we like to decorate with for the holiday. In Florida and other warm climates the plants grow and bloom in December.

The shape reminds us of the star that led the wise men to Bethlehem to worship Jesus.

The red color the precious blood of Jesus, shed for us, the only we can have our sins forgiven. White plants, a symbol of Jesus’ purity.

The poinsettia, a wonderful reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

The Christmas Season is Here!

December 2, 2024
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

December is the month we celebrate the birth of Jesus. We can get overwhelmed by shopping, parties, decorations and various activities that only happen this time of year.

All of it is good and exciting, as long as we remember the reason for the season is Jesus. Put Him first on your daily to do list. Everything else will then fall into place and we will have true peace and joy that only He can give.

Welcome December!

December 1, 2024
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17

December. The busiest month of the year for most people.

Christmas, Hanukkah, and other important events like birthdays or anniversaries take place this month.

We get so busy that we forget the most important thing. That is time for God. He sent his son, Jesus so that everyone has opportunity to accept him and have eternal life.

So today, the first Sunday of the year, let us decide to put Jesus first by starting everyday with Bible reading and prayer.

Black Friday or Good Friday?

November 29, 2024

Today is called Black Friday. It is a day when people traditionally run to the stores to get bargains Christmas gifts.

In contrast there is a day that is called Good Friday. That is the day people say that Jesus died on the cross.

The disciples thought that that day was Black and they lost all hope. They did not understand that Jesus would rise again.

Today as you may be going shopping for gifts, please take a few minutes to remember that Jesus is the true gift, given to everyone by God the Father. All we have to do is accept His Gift.

Let us turn Black Friday into Good Friday!

What Are You Most Thankful For?

November 27, 2024
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Hebrews 13:15

That is a great question. If you are a Christian, your answer should be the Lord Jesus. He paid for all our sins by His death on the cross.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. As we gather with family and friends let us not make it just another day to have fun and fellowship. Let us truly be thankful for Jesus and make Him the priority in our life.

Giving Thanks!

November 20, 2024

Thanksgiving Day is a week away and everyday let us give thanks to God for something He has done in our lives. A week of thanksgiving.

God loves to answer prayer. Are we remembering to thank Him when He does?

Today, my thanks is to Jesus for the faithful SOS Events Leaders, Staff, and Volunteers who work tirelessly to see people receive salvation.

SOS Events Classic Car

November 18, 2024

On Saturday SOS Events Classic Car was at the Plant City, Florida Car Show.

It was exciting to see 12 people making decisions to follow Jesus. Praise he Lord for this vehicle. One more tool to bring people to have the opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior.

And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Luke 14:23
