Event Materials Available from SOS Events

November 26, 2007

Pictured you see a lighthouse display featuring the “3 Things God Can Not Do”. SOS can also supply a display with a car or a ship depending on the event. Tracts, decision cards, signs, New Testaments and Bible lessons are also available. The most profitable thing that SOS can do for you is provide training for your church or organization on how to see souls saved at events. For information on anything that SOS can supply for you please email info@sosevents.org or phone 813-494-7512.

What are you sharing in life?

October 5, 2007

A few weeks back I recorded an interview with Tom Curtis.  Tom and Carolyn had recently returned from an SOS Event in Hamiltion New Jersey, their third straight year in Hamilton.

This brief interview covers the Hamilton event with the sponsoring church, and school.  Tom’s report is amazing.  However, during the interview, the Holy Spirit must have taken over, because the story he tells us, after his report, is also just as incredible.  mouse-over for controls or click here for pocast.

My prayer is that those listening to this podcast will seek more information on how they can get involved in this ministry.  Tom is a walking and teaching example of how simple and effective sharing the gospel can be for everyone.  (posted by Jay Ayres)

Montana Pastor sends his report to SOS

August 29, 2007

Final count for the county fair 110. One hundred and five cards were filled out with name, address, age and phone number. One card was representing a family of six who were all saved.

The board of our church said that we should reserve the booth for next year’s County Fair.  This was one of the better things that has taken place in our church in my 8 years here.

People are more confident in sharing their faith now.  I am convinced more people would enter into spiritual conversations if we would just give them an opportunity to do so.

The S.O.S. booth at the Fair gives people such an opportunity.  Thank you for all you did to help us become more involved in ministering to our community!

Riegel’s Report

August 26, 2007

We have just returned from a fantastic trip to teach churches in Minnesota and Montana the 3 Things God Can Not Do.

The drive through the Western states was BEAUTIFUL…flat plains of grazing animals and hearty sugar beets, wheat and corn, and desolate areas with interesting tall sandy hills and rocky mountains in the background, ranch and farm houses surrounded by trees for protection from the strong winds…we even saw a small herd of buffalo.

Our first time being all on our own was a little frightening, but our awesome God took all the nervous anticipation away as we explained the presentation and fun that the participants would be experiencing at their event…. in Rushmore, MN a 4 day “Rushford Days” celebration and in Sidney, MT a 4 day county fair. Rushford is a village of 1700 population where we saw 75 decisions to trust Christ. Sidney has over 4000 population. We saw over 100 decisions to trust Christ with at least one person leading her first person(s) (brother and sister) to Christ.

We have a policy that children must get their parents’ permission before we proceed with the child in the salvation portion. A young boy wasn’t sure he would go to heaven but wanted to be. We told him to get his parents. We asked the parents if they were sure that they would go to heaven. They weren’t but wanted to be. Dad, Mom and son prayed to receive Christ. We got their names and addresses (as we do with everyone) so that the church could be able to follow up with them to disciple them.

Don was presenting the “Three Things” to a young man. Don asked, “Do you love God?” Jon said, “I’m an atheist. I don’t believe in God.” Don continued and finished with “Now are you 50%, 75 or 100% sure that you will go to heaven?” Jon said, “I’m 100% sure……that I’ll go to hell”. Don asked, “Is that what you want?” Jon answered, “No!” Don asked, “Can I pray for you?” Jon: ”Yes!” We prayed. Pastor Paul is arranging to have a  pastor in Bozeman (MT) follow up with Jon. This is how it works. PTL!!!!!

The churches had good turnouts for the training and good participation at the events. It was heart warming and exciting for us to see them grow from timid learners to enthusiastic presenters of the 3 Things at the events. It was especially thrilling for the soul winners at the events to see people come to the Lord for the first time, or to have assurance that they would go to Heaven one day.

It was hard to leave these dear people who had been so kind and generous to us. We praise the Lord for safe travel and good stops on the way.

Car Show Street Ministry in Plant City

July 27, 2007

God has blessed in the car show ministry in Plant City. The workers have been faithful and SOS has seen a total of eleven people come to know the Lord in the last three months.

Car Show Ministry in Plant City, FL

April 20, 2007

God has burdened several people to win souls at the once a month car show in Plant City.  In February, 10 people came to a SOS training, and three days later had a place reserved at the car show. The night was very cold for Florida and very few people attended the show.

However, God is faithful and we saw 2 young people come to know the Lord at that event. The young lady has already been connected to a church in the neighboring town where she lives and has expressed a desire to join the choir.

The young man and several of his friends, who encouraged him to come over and hear the gospel, is interested in participating in SOS events in the future.

Strawberry Festival FL – 450+ Accept Jesus

March 13, 2007

March 1-11, 2007 SOS Ministries in partnership with 10 churches from the Plant City, Fl area saw God do miraculous things.

January and February were busy months for the staff at SOS Ministries in preparation for this event.  Tom and Carolyn Curtis, Jay and Penny Ayres spent many training sessions with the 58 people who worked a shift at the booth.  We are especially thankful for Don and Shirley Riegel who drove from Ohio to help us with training and at the Festival.  God brought the increase.

He is faithful and rewards dedicated people who serve Him.  Many of the workers led their first soul to Christ and their enthusiasm is catching.  We are now in the process of follow-up.  We appreciate the volunteers who are writing letters, making phone calls and personally visiting the new converts.

Young man saved at Sears

August 20, 2006

Shopping can be an event. Tom needed a new jacket. Tom & Carolyn headed to Sears. Finished with their shopping on the way out, 2 young men, employees on their break, were sitting on the riding lawn mowers out front. Tom stopped and told the young men they could improve the store by putting up a sign that said Jesus saves. One of the men, Fritz, replied, “I don’t think they would let us do that.” Then Tom said, “Have you ever seen the 3 things God can not do?” “I didn’t think there was anything God can not do,” Fritz answered. Tom went on to tell them what the 3 things were. Then, Tom proceeded with the plan of salvation. “Are you 50, 75 or 100% sure if you died right now you would go to heaven?”, Tom asked. Fritz was sure, the other, Jay, did not know at all.

In the next few minutes Tom had guided Jay into a personal relationship with God. Jay ask forgiveness of his sins and accepted the Lord as his Savior.

Just as they finished the prayer a couple came up to buy a lawn mower. Jay quickly returned to work to make the sale. Several things became new that day, a new convert, Jay, Fritz, the Christian, encouraged to be a witness, and Tom got his new jacket. Event Evangelism is exciting.
