Hang In There

April 20, 2017

Do you ever feel like the weekend will never come? Then more things come up that need doing and nothing ever seems to get done. Life seems like a burden. Jesus has the answer. He will carry those burdens for you. Give them over to Him. He loves you and will help you get through any difficult situation.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Wait!

April 18, 2017

Do you find it hard to wait for certain things? Tempted to have something right now, go into debt only to find out that God would have given it to you if you just would’ve waited. Ready to pack up at an event because we’re not seeing results. That happened over the weekend with some of us at SOS events. Then at the last minute a young man came up to the display, wanted to be sure he was on his way to heaven and was gloriously saved. So glad we waited.

Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Storms of Life

April 6, 2017

Thunder and lightning caused many people to wake from a sound sleep today. Children, pets and even some adults woke up with fear. There are many things in our storms of life, sickness, death, divorce and other things that cause fear. Just like the storm passed today so there are things we can do to help us get past the storms in our life. Renew you faith in God. Remember the past and the things He already has carried you through. Read your Bible everyday and maybe several times a day. And pray. This storm will pass. God will carry you through. Joy comes in the morning.

Psalms 30:5 ……weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Social Media

March 27, 2017

Social media can be a blessing or a curse. It’s how we use what is given to us that is important. It can bring evil or good into peoples lives. TV, radio and the Internet can bring truth or lies into the lives of anyone who will listen. Our goal is Christians should be to use social media to further the gospel and truth. Today, reach out to someone through Facebook, WeChat or Instagram to encourage them to follow the Lord. You will be amazed at what you can do by just telling someone you are thinking of them and praying for them.

Mark 5:20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

Friends and Family

1 Thessalonians 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

More Grandmother’s Prayers

March 8, 2017

Brian, 25 years old, has only been working for the concession company for one week. The first place that he worked is the Strawberry  Festival in Plant City, Florida. His home is in North Carolina. His Grandmother has been praying for him for years. Brian came into the SOS Events booth and was saved. Coincidence? No! God gave him that job and lead him to that booth in answer to his Grandmother’s prayers.

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Grandmother’s Prayers

March 7, 2017

Several people that were saved at Strawberry Festival told the soul winner that their Grandmother had been praying for them. One young man, Samuel, came in the booth with his Grandmother and after he prayed he looked at her. Tears were flowing down her face. Samuel asked her, “Why are you crying?” She answered, “I have been praying for you to be saved.”

2 Timothy 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

Home Sweet Home

February 15, 2017

Coming home after a long trip is one of the biggest blessings. Going to another Country is wonderful. The sights, sounds, smells and people are different. As enjoyable as it is, it is not “home”. When the journey is almost over and home is getting close, your heart beats a little faster, your eyes take in the familiar surroundings and what a relief. You are finally home.

That is how we as Christians should look toward Heaven. This world is not our home, we are just passing through. Jesus has gone ahead to prepare a wonderful place for us. Our final “home”. Wherever you are in life today, joy or heartache, remember we are passing through and our final home is being prepared. What joy to look forward to our Home in Heaven.

John 14:2-3 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Make It Personal

February 7, 2017

Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.”

In life, we need the help of Christ to stay focused, so make His Word personal. Say the verse above, Colossians 3:17 by using your name and personal pronouns. An example is below.

Whatever (your name) does in word or in deed, let me do all in the name of Jesus and give thanks to God my Father through Jesus.

Renewed Strength

February 4, 2017

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.   Isaiah 40:31  (KJV)
