Happy Father’s Day
June 15, 2014The Love Of God
June 12, 2014What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning? Today, my first thought was actually the first line in the chorus of a hymn, “The love of God, how rich and pure, how measureless and strong.”
God’s love for me is so strong that no matter where I am in life, happy, sad, hurting, obedient, disobedient, discouraged, He still loves me.
He not only sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross to take away ALL my sins, He meets all my needs. He loves me! He loves you!
So, today, first thing I praise Him for His love. Will you join me by praising Him right now?
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Just As I Am
June 11, 2014Are you ever frustrated that you can’t do more for Jesus? That you don’t have anything special to offer?
Charlotte Elliott, the author of the hymn, “Just As I Am,” certainly felt that way. She had been a brilliant and vivacious woman until an illness left her an invalid. Her situation left her quite depressed. She felt that she no longer had anything to offer — nothing to give.
But a pastor, Dr. Caesar Malan, came to visit her. Noting her despair, he encouraged her to give Christ her life — to come to Christ just as she was. That comment started a turnaround for her. While she remained an invalid, she began to search for ways to make her life meaningful.
And Dr. Malan’s words stayed with her — “Come to Christ just as you are.” Several years later, she wrote this hymn, which has become a favorite around the world. While she wrote more than a hundred hymns, this one in particular has affected more lives than she ever could have imagined.
So if you ever wonder what you can do to make your life meaningful, just put it in Christ’s hands and go where he leads. Christ has a way of using ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Do You Have 2 Birthdays?
June 1, 2014In two weeks time our family has seven birthdays. The family celebrates in different ways. There are cards, gifts, special foods, parties and of course a birthday cake.
The children, teens and young adults are excited and looking forward to the future. The older ones look back on life and Thank The Lord that they have reached another year.
Our physical birthday is important to us and we celebrate, but more important is our second birthday. That is the day of our spiritual birth.
It is the day that determines our future in Heaven. The day we knew we were sinners and needed to be saved. The day when we asked Jesus to forgive our sins and become our Savior.
Thankfully, all seven of our family who had birthdays are saved and we will be reunited in Heaven someday.
Do you have 2 birthdays? If you are not sure please email and we will send you a tract explaining how you can be born again. Info@sosevents.org
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Faith
May 30, 2014Sometimes our faith fails. Maybe through a trial in our lives, or we think God does not hear our prayers. Jesus told His disciples several times, “O ye of little faith”.
The wonderful thing that He also said in the verse above is that all we need is faith as small as a mustard seed.
How can we increase our faith? “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
On SOS home page is a great Bible Study on Faith. It is lesson 10. That is a good lesson to help increase our faith.

True Liberty
May 23, 2014We on this continent should never forget that men first crossed the Atlantic not to find soil for their ploughs but to secure liberty for their souls. ~Robert J. McCracken
Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Trust in The Lord
May 21, 2014Do You Want To Be Great?
May 19, 2014“I want to get just as many people ready for Heaven as I can. Hell is a place where there is ‘weeping and gnashing of teeth’; Heaven is a place of joy, happiness and no tears . . . Being a soul winner is greater than being a preacher or a great doctor or a great dentist or a great businessman. Let’s get people ready for Heaven.” —Lee Roberson

Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:for the former things are passed away.
Heaven
May 18, 2014Thinking about Heaven today. Many have gone on before and we miss them, but Jesus did not leave us without hope. He is preparing a beautiful place for us where we can see Him face to face and be united with family, friends and loved ones who are there. May the reality of Heaven bring you comfort.
John 14:2-3
In my Father’s house are many mansions:if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
