Jesus is knocking on the door of many hearts today. If you do not know Him, He wants to come into your life as your Savior. If you do know Him, He wants you to be a witness for Him and tell others how they can have Him in their lives.

Happiness is something everyone searches for, but it depends on the things that happen to us in life, our circumstances. Some people never attain happiness.
Joy is different. No matter what our circumstances we can have joy. Joy is from the heart. It is our attitude toward our circumstances. The only way to have true joy is to have Jesus as our Savior.
We can also practice the advice in this little saying:
J put Jesus first
O others second
Y yourself last
Have a joyful day!!!
1 John 1:4

Tract Testimony
August 25, 2014Several months ago, I spoke to my daughter’s Sunday School Class and gave each class member a few tracts. Yesterday one of the women in the class told my daughter this testimony.
“While out shopping, I saw two men sitting on a bench. They looked like they had some time, so I approached them and started to witness to them using the SOS tract 3 Things God Can Not Do. It is a simple easy way to tell someone of their need of salvation. One of the men were saved and the other put the tract in his pocket to make a decision later.”
It is a wonderful blessing to know that our labour is not in vain and His Word does not return void.
Isaiah 55:11
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Day of Worship
August 24, 2014Some people are unable to go to church and worship on the Lord’s Day.
Care givers, police, firefighters, hospital workers, illness are some that may not be able to assemble as the Bible directs.
A word of encouragement to you if you are one of those people. God loves you and true worship comes from the heart.
If you are able to go to church be thankful and remember those who are not able to go. Maybe a note or a phone call would brighten their day.
Pray for those you can think of that may not be in the congregation.

Homeless Man
August 23, 2014“Christian character is how you treat those who can do nothing for you.”
Waiting for a prescription at the pharmacy, a man came up to me and ask for some money. It was a very hot day in Florida, close to 95 degrees, but this man had on a heavy jacket and winter hat. He was not an old man, but looked it because of his long unkept beard.
I told him, “Out in the parking lot there is a red car with a man sitting in it, go talk to him, he has the answer for you.”
When I came out of the store the man saw me and followed me to the car.
I asked him why he did not come to the car earlier, and he told me he was afraid.
Tom was so gracious to that homeless man, giving home some suggestions where he could find a place to sleep and get a good meal, gave him a small amount of money and most important prayed with him for salvation and also that The Lord would bless him in the future.
People need The Lord and many need prayer. If you have a prayer need call Tom at 813-784-8242. This is a new ministry of SOS Events and several people have called, emailed and written for prayer.

Tracts Are Important
August 21, 2014“When preaching and private talk are not available, you need to have a tract ready….Get good striking tracts, or none at all. But a touching gospel tract may be the seed of eternal life. Therefore, do not go out without your tracts.”

Are you in the habit of handing out tracts? Is it important? YES!
I felt my life was worthless, no one loved me and I decided to end my life by walking into Niagara Falls.
That morning I met with my boss, to finalize the work from the day before. He sensed that I was upset and prayed for me. As I was leaving he gave me a book and a tract.
I sat by the Falls, getting courage to jump in, and decided to read that tract.
It saved my life in two ways. I sincerely prayed the prayer on the back of that tract and immediately my life was changed. Jesus became my Savior on that day over 50 years ago.
God has used me in many ways since then. I now always have tracts in my purse, in the car available to give to someone. Carolyn Curtis

Pastor’s Phone Call
August 20, 2014Tom had a cap come off his tooth and we had to make an unexpected dentist appointment. I was not too happy about going because it was the wrong time of day, quite a distance away and the traffic would be heavy. God had an appointment for us we did not know about.
On the rear window of our car is a sign that says, ” DO YOU KNOW THE 3 THINGS GOD CANNOT DO?” With our phone number.
On the way home from the dentist, our cell phone rang.
The man asked, “Can you tell me what are the “3 Things God Cannot Do?”
I answered him, 1. God can not lie. 2. God cannot change 3. God cannot let anyone into Heaven unless he is born again.”
Then I asked, “Are you 50, 75, or 100% sure if you died today you would go to Heaven?”
He was 100% sure. As the conversation continued he told me he is a pastor of a Spanish church, and was so excited about SOS Events ministry. He wants more information about SOS and we are excited because we need Spanish speaking people to help in events to spread the gospel.
Once again God showed me to be obedient to Him. He has plans for us that sometimes causes inconvenience, but if we trust Him, He brings a blessing.
1 Thessalonians 3:11
Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.
Back to School
August 19, 2014Life changes as the time to go back to school is here for much of the USA. Little children go to school for the first time, grade school and middle school kids are excited to renew friendships. High school students wonder what this year will bring for them. College students are making decisions that will determine their future. Teachers are looking forward to a new school year, hoping to be a good influence on their students lives.
Parents and grandparents watch and see their children getting older and hopefully wiser. We pray that all will have a great year, a time to study and get knowledge.
Christians no matter what age, are given advice from the Bible on how to obtain knowledge and wisdom. Whatever our stage of life, our year can be a time of going to “school” also. Think about the following verse today and pray for a year that will make us wiser and more obedient to our Savior.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
