A beautiful antique clock was given to me as a gift recently. Clocks are one of the things I enjoy and different sounds are heard on every hour in my home.
Time passes swiftly, however, and those sounds are a reminder to keep busy doing the work that the Lord has called us to do. There will be a time, maybe sooner than we think, that the door will close on our freedom to tell others about Jesus openly. Let us not let opportunities slip by without witnessing and working for the Lord.
John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
“To worship God in truth means to worship Him honestly, without hypocrisy, standing open and transparent before Him.” Ann Graham Lotz
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Today my much loved husband’s body will be buried. He is not dead but more alive now than he ever has been here on earth. We who are left will shed tears today because will will miss him, but we know he is with the One he loved the most, Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
As family and friends gather to celebrate the home going of Thomas Curtis and reminisce how he influenced their lives, I am reminded how important it is to be a witness for the Lord.
The testimonies of the lives that Tom touched reminds us that the only thing we can take to Heaven are the people we lead to the Lord. As Tom met Jesus face to face I am sure Jesus told him, “Well done thy good and faithful servant.”
The last day he was in the hospital, Tom led 3 people to the Lord and witnessed to several more. There were many hospital doctors, nurses and caregivers who stopped by his room to tell him how much he meant to them and how he had changed lives of people on the third floor of Brandon Hospital.
His family and friends will miss him but his dedication to the Lord lives on through his family, friends and spiritual children.
Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
The month of May is extremely busy. Graduations, celebrations and much activity. There is also the sting of sickness and loosing a loved one. In families there are joys and sorrows at the same time. Life seems like a roller coaster and emotions are high and low, but there is one thing that is consistent, the love of Jesus.
He is the rock that keeps us steady. He is the One who is with us in every situation.
1 Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Today my spouse, best friend, amazing Christian, Tom Curtis went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus.
He was ready and willing to go after a long illness. He was a faithful witness and soul winner. The last day he was in the hospital he led a doctor and 2 nurses to the Lord. Many tears were shed that day as hospital doctors, nurses and staff stopped by to say goodbye to a man they learned to love and respect after his month long hospital stay. He was able to come home to leave the earth from his favorite place the sun porch where he was able to watch the birds and squirrels.
He will truly be missed by me, his family, friends and partners in SOS Events ministry. Please pray for those of us who feel the loss but rejoice that there is no more pain and suffering and that the ministry will continue to grow and flourish.
