What Do You Think?
August 23, 2016The Christian Olympics
August 19, 2016Many people are watching the summer Olympics and cheer on their favorite person or team. The Bible has a lot to say about the Christian life being like a sports activity, however, does not endorse the Olymics as they honored false gods. Wrestling, boxing, racing, archery just to name a few sporting events mentioned in the Bible. Are you in the Christian race?
2 Timothy 2:5, Philippians-3-14, 1-Corinthians-9-24 &25
Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Witnessing
August 17, 2016“If we understand what lies ahead for those who do not know Christ, there will be a sense of urgency in our witness.” – David Jeremiah
Witnessing is not a calling or a gift, it is a command. People around us are dying without Christ and we have excuses why we do not witness and win souls. We must not let an opportunity to witness pass without telling them about Jesus. Their eternal lives depend upon it.
Acts 10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
Good Question
August 16, 2016Have you prayed about it as much as you’ve complained about it?
Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Attention Senior Citizens
August 12, 2016Today a plea goes out to all Christians who are retired or about to be. Do not “retire” from serving God. Most of you who are in good health or even if you have some problems, can be used to bring souls to Jesus.
Get busy, the time is short. Some of the ways God can use you: Hand out tracts when shopping or at a restaurant. Participate at your church in some area of service, the nursery usually needs volunteers. Prayer, even if you can not get out you can pray. The most needed resource for any church or ministry is prayer.
Get involved with a ministry. SOS Events is always looking for volunteers to go to events. 3 or 4 hours a week, a month or even a year would be a great blessing.
Follow the Lord’s leading. SOS Events founders were 62 and 64 when the ministry began 15 years ago and since that time over 50,000 souls have made decisions for Christ. You are not too old so let’s get busy for the Lord.
Psalms 71:18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.
Humble and Committed
August 10, 2016Tom Curtis, founder of SOS Events Ministry, kept a daily journal with prayer requests and his thoughts about family, friends and Christian living. These journals are a blessing as we now have in his own handwriting his prayers and goals for the ministry.
In a journal from the year 2000, before SOS Events was founded, there were two words he used to describe a successful Christian, especially a soul winner. They must be humble and committed. Traits that he displayed in his own life.
Let us take a lesson from a man who loved the Lord with all his heart and not only wrote encouraging words but lived them daily.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
SOS Events Supporters
July 26, 2016Thank you who give to SOS Events Ministry. Founded in 2001 this ministry has documented over 50,000 souls who have made decisions to follow Jesus. There are some of you who have prayed, volunteered and given financially since the very beginning. Others are new supporters.
Contributions come in snail mail with checks or even cash and there are those people who prefer to give through PayPal. The amount varies from one time large gifts to the little ladies who may send a dollar or two each month. Every donation is appreciated and used to win souls to Christ.
The only paid positions in SOS Events are the small office staff. All others from the President of the ministry to volunteers who spend their own money many times for travel and even cost of events receive nothing from SOS Events except prayer and appreciation. There are a few missionaries who receive designated support and every penny goes directly to them.
Some of you who read this blog may be “turned off” by the subject of money but it does take money to function and win souls in today’s economy. If you have never given to SOS Events but would like to give, every donation large or small is appreciated and will be used to win people to the Lord. Go to the home page and click on the donate button or send via snail mail to SOS, P.O. Box 189, Dover, FL 33527.
If you cannot give financially you can do something even more needed. Pray everyday for the staff, volunteers and most of all for lost souls to be saved.
Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Challenged?
July 23, 2016“Every challenge large or small, can equip you for a future opportunity.” Mac Lucado
Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Christian Living
July 22, 2016When we take the name CHRISTIANS, we also take on the responsibility of living as CHRISTIANS, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Donkey or Elephant?
July 20, 2016We do not usually post something on the blog that has been posted on Facebook or other media but this was too good not to post it again. Thanks, SOS Events board member, Dale Brown for the original post. (For those who may not know, the donkey and the elephant are symbols of the 2 main political parties in the USA)

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
