The Election is Over

January 10, 2017

The election is over! Donald Trump is our President as soon as he takes office in just 10 days. Let us as citizens give him a chance. There have been good Presidents and bad. America has always been strong because we have come together and stood behind our leaders, if we agreed or disagreed.

Especially you as a Christian can do one thing and that is to pray for President elect Trump and his choice for other key people who will be leading the USA for at least the next 4 years. The Bible tells us to pray for them.

I Timothy 1-4 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved.

Post from Pastor Watson

January 9, 2017

Please be in prayer for the Mission Team from Bible Baptist Church, Appomattox, VA. traveling to Dover, FL today to assist with construction and facility upgrades at the office of SOS Event Evangelism. Bro. Tom Curtis went to be with The Lord in May, 2016. Our Mission Team desires to be an encouragement and help to Ms. Carolyn Curtis as this ministry continues to reach 1,000s of people each year with The Gospel.

Jonathan Watson, Pastor

1 Thessalonians 1:2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

We at SOS Events are thankful for the men from Virginia who are coming to help get the property in good shape. We appreciate them and are praying for a safety as they travel to Florida.

Worship

January 8, 2017

Today is the Lord’s Day for Christians all over the world. For some church service is already over and the rest may be getting ready to go to church today. Then there are those who will not be in a church building today but will be worshipping at home, in the hospital, at work or maybe on the battlefield. The Bible tells us to serve the Lord and come before His presence with singing.

We can worship the Lord today no matter where we are or whatever the circumstance. So if you can, fellowship together in church but if not, worship the Lord in your heart and sing unto Him. God looks on the heart.

Do You Feel Safe?

January 7, 2017

Do you feel safe? Everyday there is some news of tragedy. Yesterday, in Florida there was a shooting in the Ft. Lauderdale airport when travelers went to pick up their luggage from a flight they were on. Five deaths and many injuries. Traffic accidents, drive by shootings, robberies and many more dangers are heard about everyday.

Should we as Christians allow fear to rule our lives. NO!! The Bible tells us in both the Old and New Testament to “fear not” over 100 times. God wants us to put our trust in Him. Do bad things happen to good people? Absolutely, but God promises to bring us through all circumstances. Safety is of the Lord.

Psalms 118:6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Psalms 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

Partnering Church

January 6, 2017

Faith Baptist Church in Hamilton, New Jersey has been a vital part of SOS events ministry for many years. The first Saturday of every month they have an SOS EVENTS visitation program. Also, there are several trainers and team leaders that go to events like fleamarkets and churchyard events in New Jersey.

There is a public park close to the church where many community events are held each year and the SOS team uses these opportunities to win souls in their area. The church owns a farm where many events take place yearly and the public is invited to participate. The church provides free food, games and other activities to bring people to their property and then gives them an opportunity to be saved.

SOS Events is blessed to have this soul winning church partnering with us.

1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

Only Three

January 5, 2017

Praise the Lord for the 3 souls that were saved at the plant city flea market yesterday. Sometimes we look at the results of our efforts and wonder why only three people got saved. I was reminded by one of our coworkers that most churches don’t see three people saved in a week, a month, or even a year. Heaven rejoices when  one person comes to know the Lord.

Everyone who has a part in SOS Events ministry is blessed to be used of God. We know that we are just witnesses that God uses and He brings the increase.

Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Look to Jesus

January 4, 2017

The SOS Events office is full of activity as the new year begins. Time for tax deductible receipts to go out, revision of the manual, scheduling for trainings and events for 2017 and plans for new areas and events.

When the staff is busy there is the enemy who is busy also trying to upset whatever we do for the Lord. The devil has already been defeated by our Lord and Savior Jesus. So we will put our trust in Him and just keep keeping on. If you are discouraged when things seem to be going wrong, look to Jesus in faith to bring you through.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Psalm 19

January 3, 2017

Psalm 19 is beautiful and powerful.. the words have been set to music and can be heard on Utube. The song is:

1 The law of the Lord is perfect,

Converting the soul;

The testimony of the Lord is sure,

Making wise the simple.

More to be desired are they than gold.

Yea, than much fine gold:

Sweeter also than honey

And the honeycomb.

2 The statues of the Lord are right,

Rejoicing the heart:

The commandment of the Lord is pure,

Enlightening the eyes.

3 The fear of the Lord is clean,

Enduring forever;

The judgments of the Lord are true

And righteous altogether.

4 Let the words of my mouth

And the meditation of my heart,

Be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord,

My strength, and my redeemer.

Moreover by them is Thy servant warned:

Is Thy servant warned:

And in keeping of them there is

Great reward.

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Serving Our Savior in 2017

January 2, 2017

SOS Events ministry is looking forward to a great year in 2017. We are praying for more souls to be saved, new team leaders and many christians to come and be trained to win souls.

2016 ended with almost 2000 recorded decisions for Christ. These are people who came to the booth at a flea market, fair, races, car shows or other events. We get name, address, age and other information so we can follow up on these new converts. In addition to these results there were many decisions that were not recorded. People we witnessed to that would not give us the information we desired or were handed a tract and said they would pray later.

We totally depend on the Holy Spirit to work on the hearts of people we witness to. We sow and water and God gives the increase. Praise the Lord for a successful year that has passed, and we are praying for Him to give an even greater harvest in 2017. Please join us in prayer for a spectacular new year.

1 Corinthians 3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Have a Blessed New Year

January 1, 2017

2017 is here. Will it be a year full of joy or sorrow? Will we have success or failure? Sickness or health? God does not allow us to see into the future but he does promise to guide us if we put our trust in Him. He is with us in every circumstance, good or bad and He is always good.

The staff of SOS Events wishes you and your loved ones a happy prosperous New Year. May God bless you as you trust in Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
