D. L. Moody Quote

March 21, 2015

“You may find hundreds of faultfinders among professed Christians; but all their criticism will not lead one solitary soul to Christ.” D.L. Moody

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  Galatians 5:22-23

Testimony of Faithful SOS Events Team Leader

March 19, 2015

Patty

“The month of March is such a God thing for me – physical birth 3/17/72; spiritual birth 3/1978; spiritual rededication and rebaptism 3/2012; giving me the desires of my heart in 3/2014 when I trained to become a missionary for SOS Events AND received the most amazingly flexible and mission friendly job in the world! I am blessed beyond belief with the relationships God has placed in my life – my sweet husband and children and encouraging extended physical and spiritual family. My journey on this earth is a testament to the grace and faithfulness of God – and my prayer is that He would choose to continue to use such a dirty and broken vessel like me to keep sharing about Him, His Son and His Holy Spirit. May God bless you, your family and your ministry until Jesus comes back – which I pray is quick!” Patty Mills

Mark 16:15 Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

Spurgeon Quote on Tracts

March 18, 2015

“Let each one of us, if we have done nothing for Christ, begin to do something now. The distribution of tracts is the first thing.”  Charles Spurgeon

The least we can do for JESUS is to hand a tract to someone. SOS Events can supply you with simple tracts that are effective tools for bringing someone to Christ.

Check out the Bookstore for the new “3 Things God Cannot Do” tract.

Mark 3:10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.

New Birth

March 17, 2015

Today a new baby was born into our family. The whole family is rejoicing for the precious little girl God has blessed us with. Children are a heritage of the Lord the Bible says.

God also gives new life to any sinner who repents, admits their sin, believes on the Lord Jesus Christ and calls upon Him to save them. And Heaven rejoices.

John 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Wednesday Witnessing

March 16, 2015
  • This photo was taken at the Plant City Farmers market that takes place every Wednesday. Randy Thomas (left) with a new convert. The look on both their faces radiates the joy they both feel. The young man is happy because his sins have been forgiven and Randy is joyful for the privilege of leading someone to the Lord. The people that come to the Lord at this Farmers market is increasing every week.
  • Please pray for many new converts and also for more volunteers, particularly someone who speaks Spanish.
  • Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

The Lost Necklace

March 15, 2015

Have you ever lost something that is precious to you?

My husband had given me a beautiful ruby necklace as an engagement present that I treasured. We had been traveling and living in a motor home and had just returned to Florida from Tennesee, when I realized my necklace was gone.

I was so upset, looked everywhere, in the car, swept the floor of the motor home, Prayed that the Lord would help me find it. My little grandaughter, then 2 years old said, “Grandma, I will pray you find your neck-a-lace.”

The next morning I awoke, looked in the mirror and saw a reflection of something shinny beside the bed. I reached down and picked up my necklace in a place I had swept before. God answers prayer. I rejoiced and immediately called my little granddaughter to tell her that God had answered her prayer.

Much more rejoicing over a sinner that repents the Bible tells us in Luke. Witnessing to people and giving them opportunity to repent and be saved is the main goal of SOS Events ministry. You can become a part of winning the lost. Email info@sosevents.org or call Tom 813-784-8242.

Luke 15:8-10    Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Marie, the Shy Soul Winner

March 14, 2015

Marie is a mature lady, probably in her early 60’s. She has been a Christian for many years and has served the Lord faithfully. Church secretary, Sunday School teacher (for very young children), and a blessing to her friends and family, but had never won a person to the Lord.
The one thing that kept her from being a witness for Christ is that she Is painfully shy.
Staff from SOS Events came to her church to teach soul winning and to witness at a county fair.
The Pastor asked for volunteers to go to the training and sign up for a shift at the fair.
Marie wanted to do as the Pastor asked but she could never talk to strangers, she thought.
She did follow though, however, and her turn came to work in the booth at the fair.
The SOS trainer sat beside her and 2 young girls were brought to the table.
Marie would say, “what do I say now?” And the trainer would guide her through each step to led those girls to JESUS.
Both girls prayed and invited JESUS to be their Savior.
Marie was so excited. She needed a little more instruction but before her shift was over she had led several more people to Christ.
On the following Sunday, the Pastor asked for testimonies from the people who had worked at the fair. He said, “I will not ask Marie because I know she is to shy to come up and speak before the congregation.”
Marie spoke up, came up and gave a glowing testimony of how she was changed from being to shy to witness into a bold soul winner for Christ.
Soul winning not only changes the new converts life, it changes the person who is witnessing life.
Many Christians like Marie are to shy or afraid to witness for Christ. If you are one of them, SOS Events ministry can help through training, prayer and the Holy Sprit’s power. You too can become a bold witness for Christ.

Acts 4:31
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Friday the 13th

March 13, 2015

Friday the 13th is feared by some people as an unlucky day. It is an old superstition dating back to the Middle Ages when people believed Friday’s to be unlucky and also 13 as an unlucky number. Put together and they believed it would be a disaster.
CHRISTIANS should not believe in superstitions. Black cats, walking under a ladder, break a mirror causes 7 years bad luck and there are many more both bad and good luck superstions. We call these superstitions “old wives tales” or fables. They are not true and the Bible speaks against believing in such things.

1 Timothy 4:6-7
If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
But refuse profane and old wives ‘fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

Help by Billy Graham

March 12, 2015

“As we look unto God instead of ourselves and our circumstances, our perspectives change. Do not get bogged down with the circumstances of life. Look unto the hills for the guidance of Christ.”
Billy Graham

Psalm 121:1-2
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
