Can America Survive?

Can America Survive?

Lack of Leadership

Reducing our military

No defense of our borders

Unbalanced budget

Socialist society

Christianity out of the nation

Rejection of Israel

This partial list shows where we are today. There is only one way to reverse the downward trend in our nation. The Bible has the answer. Will you join with us in prayer at 9 PM every evening and ask God to bring back the blessings to America?

Psalms 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Jesus Loves Me

September 1, 2015

Last evening Tom Curtis received a phone call from a Christian friend who is facing some very serious life threatening health problems. This friend became very fearful and almost was in the state of panic. Our friend lives 800 miles away in a different state.

Tom talked to him, prayed with him, and read some scripture to him. Finally,Tom and Carolyn started to sing “Jesus loves me this I know.”

That little children’s song calmed the heart of our Christian friend. He was able to drive to a friends home so he would not be alone. Tom stayed on the phone with him until we were sure he had gotten to a safe place.

Jesus loves me! This I know,

For the Bible tells me so;

Little ones to Him belong;

They are weak, but He is strong.

Refrain:

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! This I know,

As He loved so long ago,

Taking children on His knee,

Saying, “Let them come to Me.”

Jesus loves me still today,

Walking with me on my way,

Wanting as a friend to give

Light and love to all who live.

Jesus loves me! He who died

Heaven’s gate to open wide;

He will wash away my sin,

Let His little child come in.

Jesus loves me! He will stay

Close beside me all the way;

Thou hast bled and died for me,

I will henceforth live for Thee.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Gifts Fom Our Father

August 29, 2015

Praying is work. Have you ever been praying and your mind will wander to a different subject? Or not been able to get to sleep and decided to pray and in just a little while you have fallen asleep?

Prayer is the one weapon the that Satan does not want you to use. Prayer will give you answers to problems or decisions that you are unsure about. God delights in hearing from His children.

The most wonderful thing is that He is interested in the smallest things in our lives and He loves to have us ask for them. Need a parking place or want to have someone call you that you haven’t heard from in awhile? Then there it is.. the parking place right in front of the building. The phone rings and the person who you wanted to talk to is calling. Coincidence some people say. No, answer to prayer from a loving Father who loves His children, and likes to give good things to them.

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Prayer for the Little Things

August 22, 2015

God answers prayer. He is interested in everything we do.

A visitor to SOS Events told us of a man who believed you should not bother God on Sunday because it is His day of rest. It is true the Bible says that God rested on the seventh day when he created the earth. But God never told us not to come to him in prayer. That is one of the great privileges we have as his children. He is always ready to listen and answer our prayers if we have been born into His family.

Many people only go to God when they have trials or something big happens and they need him. However, he cares about the little things in our lives. He wants us to go to Him with all our needs. It may be a small thing like we need a parking place when we go to the grocery store.

If you are a Christian, God wants us to go to him as our Father, and He delights in giving us what we ask. If you have never been born again, go to the “home” page on this website and follow the ABC’s of salvation. The first prayer God wants to hear is when you ask Jesus for forgiveness and accept Him as our Savior.

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Prayer Request

August 13, 2015

Today a new trainer will be trained in Pensylvania and later this evening her first training will take place.

This is a opportunity for this church getting ready to do a fair near Philadelphia in September.

God once again opens new doors for SOS Events to train people to win souls.

Acts 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

What a Friend We Have in Jesus

August 11, 2015

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful

Who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you

You will find a solace there.
Blessèd Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing

All to Thee in earnest prayer.

Soon in glory bright unclouded
There will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.
This hymn was written by Joseph M. Scriven for his mother who was far away from him in Ireland. Written in 1855 this hymn still brings comfort and peace to many.

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Prayer Needed

“If God is just, I tremble for my country.”      Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of the USA (1743-1846)

If Thomas Jefferson was concerned about our country during his presidency, how much more should we be concerned today. The only thing that can turn our country back to God is sincere prayer.

Have you joined with the group of Christians who are praying for America at 9 PM Eastern standard time? If you have not, set your alarm on your watch or cell phone to remind you to join in prayer for our country. One minute every evening is all that is asked. A tiny portion of your day that can help change our nation.

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Prayer

July 25, 2015

Sometimes we don’t want to pray. That is because  we are  praying in the flesh not in the spirit.

To pray effectively we must be filled with the Holy Spirit. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit we will  want to pray.

When we pray we must first ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit, pray in Jesus name and pray expecting God  to answer.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Ephesians 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Effectual Prayer

June 23, 2015

Thank you for your prayers for Tom Curtis yesterday. His pacemaker surgery went so well that he was able to come home after a few hours. God answers prayer.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

God is Faithful

June 9, 2015

As the ministry of SOS Events grows the blessings overflow and at the same time the burdens of the staff, volunteers, trainers and event workers seem to be increased also.

Many of our workers and volunteers are over retirement age and along with that comes the problems that is part of the aging process. Some have physical problems, illness and a few have financial concerns.

The younger generation has the challenge of trying to coordinate family, job, church and  working events for SOS Events.

The blessing to all is the faithfulness of our Savior the Lord Jesus, who never leaves or forsakes us and walks with us through trials. He also promised us wisdom and guidance when we follow Him. The blessings to all who are with SOS Events far outweigh all of our burdens. When we witness and see a lost soul come to trust Christ as Savior, see lives changed it is worth every hardship that comes our way.

So today when you pray please add the workers of SOS Events to your list. God knows each of us who has needs  and you will be blessed when you see the results published to answered prayers.

1 Corinthians 1:9 “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”
