Thankful for 85 Wonderful Years

June 5, 2023
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalms 103:2-5

Very seldom is something personal written about on this website but today my heart is so full of thanksgiving to God for giving me 85 years of a wonderful life.

I am thankful for my salvation. The opportunity to serve Jesus for 65 of those years. Especially, SOS Events Ministry for the last 21 years.

I am thankful for my wonderful family that has grown from just me, an only child to over 100 immediate family. That includes children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 2 great, great grandchildren. This family always grows every year by adding new spouses and children.

I am so thankful for the many friends, some I have known for years and others are new.

Good health, home and most of all the promise of Heaven which gets closer for me every year.

Thank you to everyone who made my birthday so special. My heart overflows with gratitude. Carolyn Slater Curtis, Cofounder of SOS Events Ministry

Gratitude or Attitude?

May 13, 2021

How do you react when someone or something irritates you. Do you get angry and want to lash out? Do you have a bad attitude?

Inside you allow that irritation to fester. That is not good for your health and it is certainly not pleasing to God.

Instead, think of the good in that person or circumstance. Be grateful that person is in your life. Maybe you are irritated with your spouse or children, a coworker in the workplace. Each of them has many good qualities. Be thankful for the good things.

Make a list of all the things in that person or situation that you can be thankful for and then pray and ask the Lord to bless them. Your attitude can make a great difference.

Let us decide right now to have a good attitude and be grateful in every situation.

Ephesians 5:20 – Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
