Needs For SOS Events

Needs For The Ministry

SOS had a great little older GMC truck which was used for many things around the property. Picking up supplies, running errands, hauling trash, etc. As Tom was working getting ready for Riegel’s to stay in the motor home, the truck, which was parked on a small hill started to roll toward the motor home. Tom tried to stop it but could not get the door open. Thankfully the truck missed the motor home and Tom was not hurt. The truck needs to be repaired or replaced. The original cost was only $1200. If we could find another for that price it would be wonderful. If you have a truck (small) you would like to donate or would like to contribute to one we could purchase the Lord would bless you.

27 Saved Easter Egg Drop

SOS staff had the privilege of setting up the “Three Things GOD Can Not Do” display at an Easter Egg Drop in Plant City, FL the Saturday before Easter. Over 1500 people came to a field where a helicopter dropped thousands of plastic eggs filled with candy for the children. SOS saw 27 saved at this event. Several were adults.

Strawberry Festival 2008

240 Decisions

STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL

2008 Strawberry Festival is now completed.

240 people made decisions for Christ. We are so thankful for each person. The oldest was a lady 88 years old and the youngest was 6.

One exciting thing happened with two young boys who came in the booth to be saved. As Tom was filling out the card (we get name, address, age, phone # and a short testimony from each person who makes a decision) the 2 boys came back, each one holding the arm of their mother. One of the boys actually pushed his mother into a chair so Tom could tell her and their father how to get to Heaven. Both Mom & Dad received Christ and what a joyful time that was for this family of 4.

Ten churches participated in the 11 day event. 74 Christians who were trained by

staff led their very first soul to the Lord. The Pastor of one of the churches made the comment that he was so happy for the 43 souls saved the day his church worked, but even more important, he saw many of his church members win people to the Lord for the 1st time. Now that his people know how to witness they will continue to see many souls saved every week.

Ohio Contacts

February 7, 2008

Tom Curtis flew up from FL to go with Don Riegel to a church in Bucyrus, OH. The presentation went well, and we are waiting for the church to pick a date for their event. Shirley and Don plan to return to the church and make a presentation to the congregation encouraging them to sign up for training.  Tom and Don also visited a Rescue Mission in Toledo and did a presentation to the president of the mission. Our idea there was to do “recipient evangelism” with people who come to the mission for groceries, clothing and furniture. This is a new approach for SOS Events, and it was well received by the mission president.

Event Materials Available from SOS Events

November 26, 2007

Pictured you see a lighthouse display featuring the “3 Things God Can Not Do”. SOS can also supply a display with a car or a ship depending on the event. Tracts, decision cards, signs, New Testaments and Bible lessons are also available. The most profitable thing that SOS can do for you is provide training for your church or organization on how to see souls saved at events. For information on anything that SOS can supply for you please email info@sosevents.org or phone 813-494-7512.

New Lighthouse and Rabbit

New Lighthouse and Rabbit

A few weeks back, Earl (seated) shared a detailed drawing of a new lighthouse creation he had in mind.  We had been assembling and building lighthouses at the SOS office for several weeks.  Earl moved forward and constructed the lighthouse he had drawn, pictured.  Undoubtedly, this lighthouse will win awards for design simplicity, functionality, overall aesthetic appeal, and excellence in engineering.  It is hand-painted/decorated, and is a great piece of craftsmanship.  Great job, Earl!

Glory be to Jesus for such amazing gifts, and faithful servants.

BTW – that’s a real rabbit.  When it was real little and cute, they said it wouldn’t get very big;  it’s suppose to be a miniature, or something-or-other. Ha! Ha!   He is still kind of cute, but that’s one big rabbit, and fast!  😉  Also pictured are Tom and Carolyn, and Earl’s wife, Kat (far right).

One to be baptised from Yard Sale in Plant City

October 8, 2007

Sunday in church, a young boy, who was saved at the yard sale in Plant City, FL came forward at invitation time along with his Dad. They will both be baptised in the near future. God is Good.

A total of 13 were saved at that yard sale. Jesus went to the marketplace. Example; woman at the well, feeding of the 5000, etc. SOS Events follows Jesus in training, going and doing what the Lord asks all of us to do. Witness to the lost.

13 Saved at Yard Sale

13 Saved at Yard Sale

Evangelism in the marketplace is the

Ministry of SOS Events. At a community yard sale 13 people called upon the name of the Lord to be their Savior.

A few written testimonies from that event:

Linda age 43 “I received Christ as my personal Savior”.

Maria adult “Jesus came into my heart today.”

Juan age 25 “Helped me to admit I sinned and believe in Him so He will take me to Heaven with Him”.

Keyonta age 13 “I asked Jesus to come into my heart and give me eternal life”.

Victor & Ruth Shepard

Victor Shepard helped in his first SOS event at the yard sale in Plant City, FL and lead many souls to the Lord. SOS is blessed to have this former missionary couple join with us to evangelize the USA.

More from Riegels about Rally Day

October 4, 2007

As we were closing and putting things away (the city wanted to reopen the street), a teenage girl came to us to say “I want to do that!”. She was pointing to the card table where we counseled the people who wanted to receive Christ as their Savior. The worker showed her the “Three Things” and then led her as she prayed the prayer. Another worker had two boys who wanted to be sure they were going to heaven. She showed them the prayer (Part C to Call Upon the Lord). They said, “We don’t think we should do that because we are Muslim”. She said, “What do you want to do?” They looked at each other and said, “We want to pray that prayer!” And they did.
