3 Surprises in Heaven

June 25, 2013

Three surprises in Heaven
Who is there
Who is not there
People will be surprised you are there

Obedience

June 19, 2013

Obedience is what He says, when he says, for whatever reason He says, and where He says.
Partial obedience is disobedience. God sometimes speaks in a still small voice.
Are you an obedient Christian?

How to live a Godly life

June 12, 2013

You can not live a Godly life without the Word of God. Read The Word daily for a Christ centered life.
Psalms 119:11
Thy word have I hid in mine heart,
that I might not sin against thee.

We are brought with a price

June 8, 2013

1 Corinthians 6:20
“For ye are bought with a price:therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
We belong to God because He bought us with His precious blood. What a price He paid so we can go to Heaven. Today and everyday glorify Him by giving thanks for so great a salvation.

Life is Short

June 4, 2013

My husband brought me a beautiful magnolia tree for my birthday. The blooms are beautiful and so lovely to see, but it saddens me that the next morning they are all brown and wilted. It reminds me that our life is short and we need to see the beauty God has given us while we have opportunity. Take time to witness for The Lord, take time to enjoy family and friends. Look around at God’s creation and Praise Him for all he has given us.
James 4:14
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

How Are You Walking?

June 2, 2013

2 Corinthians 5:7.(for we walk by faith, not by sight.) most people say, I’ll believe it when I see it. Faith is the opposite, you will see it when you believe it.
Our Salvation, hope of Heaven is something we cannot see, but we have it when we believe that Jesus died on the cross, paid the penalty for our sin, rose again, is now in Heaven and will return!
Have you ask Him to forgive your sins and are you walking in faith? If you are, God promises that we will see all the things He has promised if we walk in faith.

Heavenly or Earthly

May 28, 2013

How many people do you know that are so heavenly minded that they are of no earthly good and how many are so earthly minded they are of no heavenly good?

Does it make a difference?

May 24, 2013

The last few weeks we have heard politicians say, “What difference does it make?”
There is a story about a little boy walking on the beach picking up starfish and throwing them back into the water.
An old man came along and asked the boy, “Why are you throwing those starfish back in, there are hundreds of them, so what difference does it make.”
The little boy picked up one more and thew it in, then said to the old man, ” It makes a difference to that one.”
Every person that hears and accepts the Gospel is on the way to Heaven, and it makes a difference to that one.
This is a holiday weekend, why not make a difference in someone’s life and tell them about The Lord Jesus.

Personal word

May 18, 2013

Today marks the one year anniversary of the death of my son, John R. Slater, Sr. He was a Godly man, a husband, father, grandfather,
brother and son. Also, was the pastor in several churches over the years and his main passion in God’s work was missions. He spent time in Africa, the Philippines and other places serving The Lord and winning others to Christ.
He asked me once if I thought he could be great for God. God used him in many ways with many people. I personally know of four young preachers who The Lord called home early and we sometimes question, why?
God says his ways are not our ways so we may not know why until we get to Heaven.
The assurance of Heaven and the knowledge we will see our loved ones again is the great promise God has given us. So today, I am thankful God allowed me to be the mother of John and also my son Paul who are waiting for me and we will one day rejoice together in Heaven.

A New Pledge Allegiance

May 15, 2013

This was sent to us by a friend. A little long but so true.

BY A 15 yr. OLD SCHOOL KID
who got an A+ for this entry

Since the Pledge of Allegiance
And The Lord’s Prayer
Are not allowed in most
Public schools anymore
Because the word ‘God’ is mentioned…..
A kid in Arizona wrote the attached
NEW School prayer:

“New Pledge of Allegiance”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That’s no offense; it’s a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God’s name is prohibited by the state.
We’re allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks…
They’ve outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the ‘unwed daddy,’ our Senior King.
It’s ‘inappropriate’ to teach right from wrong,
We’re taught that such ‘judgments’ do not belong..
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles..
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It’s scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school’s a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I die My soul please take!
Amen
