“The so-called “social gospel” lays stress upon this life, not on the next. In many quarters it is now regarded as very old-fashioned and passe’ to urge people to prepare to die. Social security, better housing, relief for tenant farmers, better living conditions for the poor and the care of underprivileged children—these have occupied so much of the teaching and preaching of these modern days, that preachers have left hungry-hearted people ignorant about Heaven.” ― John R. Rice
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
Everlasting Life! A promise in God’s Word for all who will listen and believe that God sent His Son, Jesus, to come into the world as a baby, grew into adulthood and then die on the cross. His blood can cleanse us from all our sins.
If you are old enough to remember the way we traveled on a road trip before GPS.
Maps. We would look at maps. Plan our travel for the day. No way of knowing if there was road construction or detours. We did not know the speed limits or estimated time of arrival. It wasn’t easy.
Today we have GPS. It guides us through traffic, tells us the fastest way to go, speed traps and when we will arrive.
Life is like the old fashioned way. We do have a map. It is the Bible. It tells us the way to our destination, Heaven. But there may be a few detours along the way. Sin, sickness, trials.
Our GPS is the One who can get us there. JESUS. Our guide and the only way to Heaven.
Home! To most of us it is a wonderful place. I place where we can relax and get away from the pressure of daily living.
You may live in a mansion or in a small run down house. Your home may have many people or maybe only you, but it is home!
What a great feeling after being away, maybe on vacation, or a hospital stay, or business trip. Whatever caused you to be away makes you long to get home.
Christians should be longing for their heavenly home. We do have a home in Heaven that will be far greater than we can imagine. Are you longing for home?
There is a song that I heard on the car radio, Homesick For Heaven. We should all be wanting to go Home, but until that time we need to live Serving Our Savior.
Have you ever been on a trip, in a hospital or just visiting but you are longing for home?
There is an old saying “Home is where the heart is”. How true. We can be in any place and still feel at home if we are surrounded by people we love.
As Christians we should be long for HOME. Our heavenly home where we shall see Jesus and be reunited with family and friends who have gone one before us. However, while we are still traveling this earth we do have our loved One Jesus, who is with us 24/7 no matter where we are.
So, today, wherever you are you can feel at home with your Comforter and Friend Jesus but looking forward to the day when we will reach our Heavenly home.
When going on a trip, business or pleasure, we prepare by making sure we pack everything we may need. Proper clothing, toiletries and identification. We are looking forward to the trip with great anticipation.
We are preparing for the greatest trip we will ever take, the journey to Heaven. The preparation should be the most important thing on our minds. The first thing is salvation. No one enters Heaven without it. Then, daily Bible reading and prayer. A pure lifestyle is important, also. Are you ready for this trip?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
SOS Events Team in Florida will miss our friend, Beverly, who went home to be with the Lord last week.
Beverly was a faithful friend who rarely missed the opportunity to fellowship and work with the Senior Servant who gather every month to get out the “Life Saver News”, the SOS Events monthly newsletter.
She is missed but the one thing we who are saved look forward to is knowing that we will meet again one day.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Psalms 115:16
This sign was on a church marquee. We may smile at that but there is a lesson in it.
None of us know when it will be our last day on earth. Death comes to the old and the young. We could have a tragic accident and be gone in seconds. Illness could strike and we could be gone in a day or two.
Are you ready? There is only one way to be sure of eternal life in Heaven. Jesus is the way , the truth and the life. Trust in Hime today, before it is too late.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
