Training Class

July 22, 2014

Alice Thomas, missionary for SOS Events, taught a group of new team members in Tennessee this past weekend. Pray for these twelve as they go out into the marketplaces in their area to witness for Christ.

We have been focusing on the disciples of Jesus the past few blogs and those 12 disciples are still influential in our lives today. There were twelve people in this group that are newly trained to win souls in Tennessee. It is exciting to think of what just twelve people can do with the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

Mark 3:14
And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach

Ft. Madison, Iowa

July 15, 2014

Fort Madison, Iowa is a small town that has a state prison. Many of the prison guards live in the town with their families. One of SOS team members, Linda, held a KIDS Club for the children. Sixty attended, some of them were kids from Christian families but ten children were saved. All were given “3 Things God Can Not Do” Bible tracts. Continue to pray for these young converts.

Matthew 19:14
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me:for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

(R) Adam 20, U.S. Navy was Born Again/Saved by Jesus Christ Saturday. He has been in the Navy for 3 years, attended Chapel a few times & said he never heard the Gospel. The Lord had Adam’s heart prepared & receptive as he prayed in repentance. It was a blessing to be a share the Gospel with an active duty shipmate. Let’s pray for Adam to be a missionary aboard his ship & have the Gospel spread.

Glory to God

June 28, 2014

Several Pastors got “Little Display” boards at the conference we attended this past week. These boards are 81/2″ by 11″ and can easily be carried in a briefcase, backpack or luggage.
One of the Pastors is taking his to Jamaica next week, and several are using their displays for visitation in their home state.
We may never know here on earth how many people hear the gospel with SOS Events tracts, displays and soul winning tools the ministry provides, but we do know thar God is blessing and He gives the increase.
To God be the glory.

2 Corinthians 4:5-6
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus ‘sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

More Conference News

June 26, 2014

Carolyn Curtis with 2 Hispanic men at the conference in St. Petersburg who are going to be trained to win the many Spanish people in the Florida area.
We are thankful for the interest in SOS by many of the conference attendees . One of the pastors is going to Micronesia next week and taking the “3 Things God Can Not Do” display board to win people to The Lord in that country.
Once again The Lord is increasing the outreach of SOS Events ministry around the world.

Luke 24:47
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Wait on The Lord

June 25, 2014

Psalms 27:14
Wait on the Lord:
be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart:wait, I say, on the Lord.
Sometimes it is hard to wait on the Lord for something we want or need. Tom Curtis ( founder of SOS) has been ill for 6 weeks and had to stay in bed most of that time.
He knew to be well he had to wait until The Lord gave him strength.today he is able to go to the conference that SOS is participating in at Saint Petersburg, Fl. Praise The Lord.

Prayer Needed

June 24, 2014

This week SOS Events is participating in a Christian Conference held in Saint Petersburg, Fl. Prayer is needed as pastors and laymen walk by our booth that they may see the need to evangelize in the marketplace.
Most people will not come to a gospel preaching church if they are not saved and we need to go to them.
The time is short!! Everyday we see that maybe soon we as Christians will not have the freedom to be in public places to proclaim the gospel.
The group that is in St. Pete this week could make a difference all over the country if they would just get a vision of the lost souls in America.
Please pray with us for new commitments this week.

John 9:4
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day:the night cometh, when no man can work.

World War II Veteran Saved

June 23, 2014

On the1st day of Summer, the Lord Jesus saved 9 souls @ the Auburndale, FL. Farmers/Flea Mkt. for His glory!!. There were (2 teens, 7 adults) from Footville, Wisconsin, Batesville, Texas & the Florida towns of Haines City, Mulberry, Wahneta, Polk City & Kissimmee Florida.

Today’s unique highlight came from Nicholas. He is a 90 year old WW2 Veteran in a wheel chair being pushed by his adult grandson. He was attracted to our “3 Things God Cannot Do” Gospel Board. With tears in his eyes, Nicholas said his wife for the past 55 years had died two weeks ago. He was heartbroken. The funeral left him searching for spiritual answers. God gave Nicholas the answer to his biggest question as he listened to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. At 1:35PM, Nicholas prayed out load in the public aisle at the flea market in repentance & faith toward Jesus Christ alone to save his soul.

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us- ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
