When a person needs a heart transplant, it is because the old heart can no longer do what it was made to do. It may have carried them for years, but now it is weak, damaged, and unable to give life the way it should.
That is a beautiful picture of what God does for us spiritually.
Before Christ, we all have a heart problem—not the kind a surgeon can fix, but one only God can heal. Our hearts are naturally hardened by sin, burdened by pride, and unable to produce the life God desires in us.
But God, in His mercy, offers something miraculous: a new heart.
He does not simply patch up the old one. He does not offer a temporary fix. He gives a complete spiritual transplant. He removes the stony heart that has grown cold and hard, and in its place He gives a heart that is tender, alive, and responsive to Him.
Only God can perform that kind of surgery.
When He gives us a new heart, our desires begin to change. Our thoughts begin to change. What we once resisted, we now long for. What once felt heavy becomes a joy, because God has done an inward work that only He could do.
What a gift to know that the Lord is still in the business of changing hearts.
Ezekiel\ 36:26
“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” KJV
