Strawberry Festival in Full Swing

March 3, 2012

Sweet Memories is the theme of this years Strawberry Festival in Plant City, FL. For the past 7 years SOS has been in this event with a soul winning booth. As we went over to set up the booth this year the staff reflected on some of the good memories we have had over those 7 years.

Over 2000 souls have been saved at this event. Hundreds of people have been trained to be soul winners and have participated. Many of the trained workers won their very first soul to the Lord.

SOS counts it a great privilage to be able to be a part of the Strawberry Festival and the directors, other vendors and people that we have worked with have been so supportive of the ministry and activities of SOS. We cherish the memories and trust that this year will bring in another harvest of souls.

SOS Moving Forward in 2012

January 9, 2012

The staff at SOS has been busy as usual. There were 2 trainings during the Christmas Holidays with a total of 6 new trainers. These new people have alrady been working and scheduling events for 2012.
During Christmas week there was a call from a lady who has worked in the booth at Strawberry festival in the past and she said that the Lord impressed on her heart to volunteer one or two days in the office every week. Alice has worked for 2 days since the new year and SOS staff is excited to have this new staff member on board. She has also been scheduled to work several events.
Trainings for the Plant City, FL Strawberry Festival have been scheduled and a car show in Dover, FL will take place on January 28th. Pray with us for souls at the car show and Strawberry Festival.
SOS is always looking for volunteers for work on the property, soul winners for events and new trainers in every state in the USA. If the Lord lays SOS on your heart plesas contact us, via email, phone call or letter.

Things move Swiftly at SOS

November 15, 2011

SOS is growing by leaps and bounds. Yesterday there was a lady who had been through regular training who called and said, “Can you train me to be a trainer?”

The answer was, “Yes, we would be happy to do that. When?”

“Tomorrow,” she said. So this morning she came and was trained and Thursday just 2 days away she has her first training with 3 ladies from her Bible study group.

On the same day her call came in a couple from Orlando called and asked to be trained this week also.

Tomorrow night they come to be trained at our office.

God is so good. Usually between Halloween and January it is very quiet at the SOS office. Not this year. We Praise the Lord we can be busy for Him and that new people want to take the Gospel to others via SOS. Please pray for the new workers and that many souls will be won to Christ through them.

Prayer Requests for Friends of SOS

November 7, 2011

Several of SOS staff members need prayer right now. Dorinda Cardwell, FL goes in for surgery this week. Tom Curtis, FL is having irregular heartbeat even with a pacemaker and Doctors are trying to correct that with medication for now. Pray the medication works. Scott Weaver, IN is going in for 2 heart surgeries in the near future and will need at least 6 months recovery time. Shirley Riegel needs prayer for healing.

Also, we have family members of staff who need prayer, John Slater, Carolyn Curtis’ son has terminal cancer. Dorothy, Diana Guiliano’s mother needs prayer as she has Parkinsons.

Also, our Senior Servants Ladies have various illnesses and need prayer.

Two friends who have cancer, Denny from Ohio and Mike in FL.

This is an unusual post to our webpage but we at SOS covet your prayers. “The effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. James 5:16

Many Fall Festivals are in Progress

October 31, 2011

SOS has seen more that 100 souls saved at various Fall Festivals around the USA. Indiana 10 salvations, NJ 60 decisions, Orlando, FL 14, Plant City, FL 20, Alafia, FL 10 and there are still at least 5 more that have not been reported yet.

There will be an update within the next week. What a blessing.

New Workshop Up

October 27, 2011

Five minutes ago a crew of men left SOS property with a new metal building completed. What a blessing. No more leaky roofs, rusty tools and wet and ruined supplies. Thank you to those who contributed toward this project and if anyone would still like to get in on the blessing there is always a need for additional funds.

We at SOS just want to Praise the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness to the ministry and to our staff personally.

There is also a need for volunteer workers, both on the ministry property and especially for new soul winners and trainers. The ministry is constantly growing. We could have used 50 new workers in October had they been available. Pray and ask the Lord what He would have you do.

Two Birthdays

October 23, 2011

A girl came up to the booth in Indiana and said, “This is the place where you get 2 birthdays.”
“Yes, said the person that was showing the display with the 3 Things God Can Not Do. Are you 50, 75 or 100% sure if you died today you would go to Heaven?”
She answered, “I’m 100% sure.”

“How about your friend?”

The friend was not sure but wanted to be, so they went back and sat down at one of the soul winning tables.

After the young man prayed to receive Christ, the girl said, “Tomorrow is my spiritual birthday. Last year in this booth I was born again. I have 2 birthdays.”

What a blessing. When people come back after a year or more and confirm their faith, and to know that God uses ordinary people who partner with SOS to win people to the Lord.

SOS can use people in all areas of the USA and beyond. Come join us.

Gary Saved in Office

September 9, 2011

SOS is in real need of a new structure for a tool shop. For the last 5 years we have used a tent but now the canvass has worn out and when it rains much of the equipment gets ruined or rusted.

Gary is the sales person for a company that puts up carports and medal buildings. SOS has had him put up a carport for the vehicles about a year ago so we know the workmanship is good.

Gary came to the property to measure and help with the decision on where to put the enclosed carport and also the correct size. When he came into the office to write up the sale, he saw a Christian Life New Testament on the desk. He asked, “Do you give these away?”

Tom answered, “Would you like one?”

“Yes, I have been trying to learn more about Spiritual things.”

Tom said, “Take that one it’s yours, but let me ask you a question. Are you sure you are going to Heaven if you died today?”

His answer was, “Some days.”

Tom then proceeded to lead him into salvation. God is so good to bring into our lives the opportunity to witness for Him.

The structure we need is going to cost more that we expected. If anyone would like to make a donation toward that project, designate the donation for the building fund and it will be applied for that purpose.

Billy”s Followup Testimony

August 31, 2011

SOS staff had opportunity to present the ministry at a large church in Brandon, FL. When
greeting people as they came in, Carolyn said, “Hello” to a lady and ask if she
had ever seen the “3 Things God Can Not Do”.

The lady replied, “Yes, I was at a yard sale in Plant City, FL,  last spring and a man
asked my husband and me if we were 50, 75 or 100% sure we would go to Heaven if we died
that day.”

“I said, Yes, but my husband, Billy, said he was not sure. I was shocked.”

This wife did not want  Billy to stay, “You are sure, come on I want to shop”, she said.

Billy said, “No, I want to be sure.”

Both of them sat down and Tom led that man to the Lord that day in Plant City.

Back to the event in Brandon. Carolyn called Tom over and reminded him of the salvation
of Billy. He did remember and then asked if Billy was with her.

She called Billy over and there was a happy reunion in that foyer. Tom asked Billy,
“Are you 50, 75 or 100% sure if you died today you would go to Heaven?”

A huge smile came on Billy’s face, “I am 100% sure ever since that day in Plant
City.”

Sometimes people say that Event Evangelism does not work, because it is too easy, but
testimonies like Billy’s prove that God does save souls at events. SOS goes to events to compel people to come into the family of God.

Luk 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel themto come in, that my house may be filled.

3 new opportunities for SOS

August 19, 2011

God has sent 3 wonderful opportunities for SOS to expand the ministry both in area and in cultural groups.

First was a call from a man in Hawaii, who invited Tom and Carolyn Curtis to travel there to teach a church, workers at a homeless ministry and a Christian college how to witness using the “3 Things God Can Not Do”. This opportunity is awsome because people from all over the world come into this Hawaiian port weekly. This trip will take place soon.

The second person God brought to the ministry is an African American woman who has already been through leadership training and is taking SOS to African American churches in the USA. Her first event with her trained workers is in the state of Kentucky, within the next month.

The third person is a Mesianic Jew who is working at secular colleges to bring young Jewish men and women to the Mesiah, Jesus Christ. He is working with a Rabbi to get a display board that will use Old covenant symbols and Old Testement verses to direct a Jewish person to the display board without being offensive to them. This is the most challenging of the 3.

“The Lord……, is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

Praise the Lord for these new opportunities.
