If you have friends who have lost a loved one since last Christmas, make a special effort to call them and comfort them during the holidays. Let them talk about the person they lost if they want too it brings comfort to be able to talk to someone.
Remind them that Jesus is the one who can bring comfort to their heart, but don’t get preachy.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Comfort to Those Who Grieve
December 11, 2013Practical advice
December 9, 2013Tip: never give you credit card or check number over the phone unless you initiate the call.
There are people, who are scammers and will try to take advantage of you, especially at this time of year.
The Bible tells us to be wise.
Love Your Neighbor
December 6, 2013Take a small gift or homemade treat to your most grumpy neighbor. That neighbor may feel alone and unloved. Christmas time is a great time to put our love into action.
Mark 12:31
“And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
Keep Christ in Christmas
December 4, 2013Christmas is a wonderful time of year. The beauty of the decorations, Christmas Carols, happy faces and a time of joy for most people. It is the one time of year when in the stores the music is pleasant to hear.
Sad to say though, that in America Christmas has become so commercialized that the true meaning has been replaced.
Then we have the people who want to take Christ out of Christmas. No Christmas tree, instead Holiday tree. No Christmas carols or even secular songs as it might offend someone.
Even Christians have different beliefs about the right and wrong way to celebrate and that is OK, but as brothers in Christ let us love one another and strive to keep Christ in Christmas.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Why many people do not love God
November 30, 2013Why people do not love God.
Evil has come in and taken control of the hearts and minds of the unsaved. There are over 5000 places where you can evangelize and give the plan of salvation. A place to tell others about Jesus Christ. SOS Events ministries can help you find a location in your area, and with proper instruction YOU can bring some of these unsaved into the family of God and bring joy to The Lord.
How much do we love God?
November 25, 2013How much of what we do is an expression of love for God? We should live everyday by showing our love for God by bringing HIM joy.
Thanks. Giving.
November 23, 2013With all the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season there is a very important Holiday that gets shoved in the background. Christmas decorations go up the day after Halloween and everything focuses on Christmas (not the true meaning but the materialism).
The true American Holiday, Thanksgiving is all but forgotten, unless of course it is for the feasting on turkey and the trimmings.
Thanksgiving. Thanks. Giving. It is a day when the focus should be on giving God the thanks for the bountiful blessings He has given to us.
Let us take time this coming week to thank The Lord for all His blessings.
What is the Hardest Thing About Evangelism
November 21, 2013“The hardest thing about evangelism is getting up in the morning and trusting God.”

Do You Take Advantage of Opportunity?
November 19, 2013While shopping a lady needed a shopping cart but did not have a quarter. (Aldis requires a quarter to use their carts)
When Carolyn was returning her cart to get back her coin, she noticed the lady.
“Do you need a cart and cannot find a quarter?”, she asked the woman.
“Yes” the lady answered.
“Take mine,” Carolyn said, “but in exchange will you read this tract?”
The lady took the cart and the tract and happily went into the store.
This was an unusual opportunity to give a gospel tract. SOS staff are always looking for opportunities to witness. Sometimes it is actually a conversation that leads to conversion and other times it is giving a tract and praying that the Word will dwell in the hearts of the recipients.
