Love or Hate

May 28, 2017

Written on a church sign:  I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

Mark 5:43-44 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Terrorist Attack

May 23, 2017

Another terrorist attack in England this time mostly young people were the targets. Out hearts go out to the parents and loved ones of the victims. Pray for the survivors and families who lost someone in this evil act. The world holds many dangers from evil doers but as Christians we must trust the Lord for safety and peace.

Psalms 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

Brighten Your Corner

May 22, 2017

There is a little song “Brighten the Corner Where You Are”.  Today why don’t you encourage someone with a phone call, text message, note or a simple smile may make someone’s day brighter. Maybe a single Mom, a lonely person, a friend who struggling with a problem or a stranger who needs a friendly greeting. You will be the one who gets a blessing along with the person you are encouraging.

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Graduation

May 19, 2017

May through June is the time of year for graduations. Small children graduate from kindergarten, looking forward to growing up and learning new things. High school students graduate looking forward to college or career. College graduates look forward to adult life and future success. It is a time for celebration. We as Christians, no matter what our age look forward to even a greater graduation. The time when we go to Heaven. If it be through death or Jesus comes and we are caught up in the rapture. We can all look forward to our “graduation day”.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Our Pilot

May 18, 2017

Some people have fears. Snakes, the dark, bridges and many more. Flying can be very frightening to some people. Recently while on a flight the plane went through severe tubulence. Lightning, rain, bumpy air pockets. The plane actually dropped several feet which had many passengers crying and a few actually screamed. Then the pilot took the plane above the clouds where the sun was shinning and looking out the window the clouds looked white, fluffy and beautiful. The plane landed safety. It reminds me of our Pilot in life, the Lord Jesus Christ. He takes us through the storms of life and brings us the beautiful blessings in spite of the storm. We have nothing to fear if we put our trust in Him.

Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Forgiveness

April 29, 2017

After a visit to the Halocaust Meseum in St. Petersburg, Fl, I was reminded of Corrie Ten Boom a dedicated Christian, and her family who saved the lives of many Jews during World War II. She and her family were caught and Corrie and Betsie (her sister) were sent to Herzogenbusch political concentration camp, and finally to Ravensbrück, a women’s labor camp in Germany. Betsie died there and because of a clerical error Corrie was released just before the women in that prison were sent to the gas chambers. Did Corrie harbor hatred for her enemies. No! She found the answer to peace in the Bible. Love and Forgiveness. “Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door of resentment and the handcuffs of hatred. It is a power that breaks the chains of bitterness and the shackles of selfishness.” Corrie Ten Boom

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Jesus is Coming

April 25, 2017

Are you looking for Jesus? We get so busy with the cares of this life that we sometimes do not remember that Jesus is coming back, and it could be soon. The Bible tells us that we do not know the day or the hour but when we least expect it He will come. We will be caught up to meet Him in the air, if we have trusted Him as Lord and Savior. Are you ready and watching?

1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Our Tongue

April 21, 2017

James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

Pilate

April 12, 2017

Pilate tried to prove his innocence by washing his hands, but his sin could not be taken away by washing. The only thing that can wash away sin is the blood of Jesus and trusting in His death, burial and resurrection. Pilate was guilty of helping to send Jesus to the cross, but God used him to fulfill prophecy.

Matthew 27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

Do It Right

March 24, 2017

If you don’t have time to do a job right, what makes you think you’ll have time to do it over?

1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
