Comfort to Those Who Grieve

December 11, 2013

If you have friends who have lost a loved one since last Christmas, make a special effort to call them and comfort them during the holidays. Let them talk about the person they lost if they want too it brings comfort to be able to talk to someone.
Remind them that Jesus is the one who can bring comfort to their heart, but don’t get preachy.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Unexpected blessing

August 14, 2013

Sometimes we get a blessing from unexpected sources. In the waiting room of a doctors office we met a sweet Christian lady who had cancer that is now in remission.
She had a great attitude. This was her statement, “If I go, or if I stay, I am a winner either way.”
2 Corinthians 5:9
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

Eternity

August 4, 2013

Eternity is too long to be wrong. Are you 50, 75, or 100% sure if you died today you would go to Heaven?
Today is the day of salvation. Invite Jesus into your heart today. He died on the cross, was buried and on the 3rd day rose again. He did that for you personally.

HOME!

July 23, 2013

There is no place like home. When away from home, even if there are blessings in seeing family and friends, we long to be home. Our hearts beat a little faster, and the excitement builds as we come nearer to our destination.
As we drive into the yard we are so happy. Home!
Then we realize that this is temporary. Our permanent home is waiting. Our hearts beat a little faster and the excitement builds as we come closer to that Heavenly Home.
What a day that will be when we fly into our HOME!
Are we ready? Trusting Jesus as our Savior is the ticket.
Do you have yours?

Memorial for Eugene “Quacky” Curtis

July 21, 2013

Today a memorial service was held for Eugene Curtis, from Toledo, OH. He was better known as Quacky the clown.
He was also the oldest brother of SOS founder, Tom Curtis. It was a beautiful service, commemorating a life of bringing happiness to thousands of people all over the USA and Canada for over 50 years.
The best part of the memories are his true salvation. It is a joy to go to a service, knowing that we will see him again.
Heaven is real. Jesus provided a way to have eternal life though His death on the cross, His burial and His resurrection. Our part is to admit we have sinned. Believe in our heart that Jesus paid the price for our sin and call on Him to save us.
Then on our final day on earth our loved ones will know that they, too can see us again in Heaven. What a blessing.

3 Surprises in Heaven

Three surprises in Heaven
Who is there
Who is not there
People will be surprised you are there

Death of His Saint

June 14, 2013

Psalms 116:15
Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of his saints.
Today Heaven is rejoicing to welcome another of God’s saints into His presence. At 4:15 am Eugene Curtis, Tom’s brother went home to be with The Lord. Though our hearts are saddened, we at the same time rejoice to know he is out of his pain and struggles here on earth.
We will see him again!! Thank You Lord for your death on the cross and your promise of Heaven.

How Are You Walking?

June 2, 2013

2 Corinthians 5:7.(for we walk by faith, not by sight.) most people say, I’ll believe it when I see it. Faith is the opposite, you will see it when you believe it.
Our Salvation, hope of Heaven is something we cannot see, but we have it when we believe that Jesus died on the cross, paid the penalty for our sin, rose again, is now in Heaven and will return!
Have you ask Him to forgive your sins and are you walking in faith? If you are, God promises that we will see all the things He has promised if we walk in faith.

Heavenly or Earthly

May 28, 2013

How many people do you know that are so heavenly minded that they are of no earthly good and how many are so earthly minded they are of no heavenly good?

Personal word

May 18, 2013

Today marks the one year anniversary of the death of my son, John R. Slater, Sr. He was a Godly man, a husband, father, grandfather,
brother and son. Also, was the pastor in several churches over the years and his main passion in God’s work was missions. He spent time in Africa, the Philippines and other places serving The Lord and winning others to Christ.
He asked me once if I thought he could be great for God. God used him in many ways with many people. I personally know of four young preachers who The Lord called home early and we sometimes question, why?
God says his ways are not our ways so we may not know why until we get to Heaven.
The assurance of Heaven and the knowledge we will see our loved ones again is the great promise God has given us. So today, I am thankful God allowed me to be the mother of John and also my son Paul who are waiting for me and we will one day rejoice together in Heaven.
