Stand Fast

July 1, 2014

Thankfully the founding fathers of the USA were willing to stand for freedom and rights of the citizens of our country.
The Supreme Court made the right decision in the Hobby Lobby case yesterday. Employers have the right to reject a health plan that is against their religious beliefs if you are unfamiliar with the case.
This is 4th of July week and we as Christians must stand up for principles set forth not only in our Constitutional rights but in our Biblical rights.
Don’t be a Christian who falls for anything.

2 Thessalonians 2:15
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

The First Ammendment

In the United States of America “citizens” have rights given to us by the Constitution. When we see anyone and particularly politicians trying to take away those rights we must speak up and stand up for our freedoms.
Be thankful that we have those rights. In other countries people are jailed and even put to death for speaking negatively about the government, preaching the gospel or even going to church.
Today, just for a moment, stop and thank The Lord for freedom.
Some read this blog that do not live in the USA. We are praying for you our brothers and sisters in Christ who may not have the freedom we do. Whatever our circumstances we are free in Christ as the Bible says.
1 Corinthians 7:21-22
Art thou called being a servant? care not for it:but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather. For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman:likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.

Liberty

June 10, 2014

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
― Benjamin Franklin, Memoirs of the life & writings of Benjamin Franklin
In America we are giving up our liberties everyday and as a nation we are becoming weaker. We as citizens must stand for our rights as granted by our forefathers in the Constitution. God should be honored in public events, graduations, sporting events, etc. America was a strong Godly nation until one woman decided that prayer should be taken out of the schools. It is not “politically correct” to mention God anymore. We need to wake up and stand up for our freedom and liberty and it begins by giving God the honor He deserves.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is that Spirit:and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Forever Freedom

May 24, 2014

Memorial Day weekend. Time to honor the men and women in the military that fought bravely so that we can have freedom. Many died, some were injured and their lives changed forever.
Take time to pray for the families, and thank The Lord for the freedom we enjoy because of the sacrifice given by our brave military men and women.
Then remember the One who also sacrificed His life for our spiritual freedom, The Lord Jesus Christ.
The freedom we enjoy in the USA could be taken away, but the freedom we have in Jesus can never be taken from us if we have trusted Him as our personal Savior.

John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

True Liberty

May 23, 2014

We on this continent should never forget that men first crossed the Atlantic not to find soil for their ploughs but to secure liberty for their souls. ~Robert J. McCracken

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Obituary

January 20, 2014

I received the following obituary from a friend.

Maybe the founding fathers were right to only allow land owners to vote. Maybe people that are on the government dole should not be allowed to vote. Scary thoughts!

Important historical information to read regardless of who you voted for in 2012.

Interesting Obituary

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say
about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;

From spiritual faith to great courage;

From courage to liberty;

From liberty to abundance;

From abundance to complacency;

From complacency to apathy;

From apathy to dependence;

From dependence back into bondage.”

The Obituary follows:

Born 1776, Died 2012 – It doesn’t hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 Romney: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million Romney: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase..

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals – and they vote – then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

Apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom……

1 Corinthians 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God:I speak this to your shame.

Abraham Lincoln Quote on America

September 29, 2013

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”
Abraham Lincoln
Americans, wake up! We are on the edge of destroying ourselves.
