Family

November 24, 2015

Usually on a holiday like Thanksgiving families get together to eat and have fellowship. Some families are very small and some families are huge with many relatives.

Families are a blessing. They are not perfect but the imperfections make each one unique. At this time of year thank God for your family. If they are live close to you you are especially blessed. If they are far away take time to pray for them today. Maybe they have passed on to Heaven and you can still be thankful for the time you had with them.

If you have unsaved relatives pray for them and do not give up. I know a daughter who prayed for her parents for over 30 years and both parents were saved just weeks before they died. God is faithful and always good.

1 Corinthians 1:9  God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Fellowship

November 9, 2015

Pastor Romero and his wife, Maria stopped by Saturday to get supplies and turn in 79 decisions slips from the Flea Market in Lakeland, Fl.

It is always a joy to see them and fellowship. Maria speaks no English and we speak no Spanish but somehow the love of Jesus shines through and we communicate. When the pastor prays in Spanish, we know through the Holy Spirit that his prayers for us and the ministry reach the Father in Heaven.

Join with us in prayer for the Romeros and their church. He told us that the church has tripled in size since they have been witnessing at the flea market.

1 John 1:7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Communication = Relationship

October 7, 2015

“Without communication there is no relationship.”

This quote is one of the things that a Pastor, whose name I have forgotten, preached many years ago that made a great difference in my life.

He was speaking about our relationship with God. Communication is a connection, a way to express thoughts, feelings and action to one another.

To have a relationship with God we MUST communicate. How? We talk to Him through prayer and He talks to us through His Word and the Holy Spirit. It has to be a regular thing. He desires us to come to Him daily for that true intimate relationship with him.

The same thing is true with our relationships with family and friends. If we do not keep communication active the relationship fades and can die.

If you are out of fellowship with God, He is waiting for your relationship to begin again. Pray and ask His forgiveness for your neglect and that wonderful joy of communication with God will be restored immediately.

Maybe there is someone that you haven’t communicated with in a long time. Today, there is no excuse with email, Facebook, Phone and all the modern ways we have to talk to our friends and family. You may not get an immediate response but do not give up. Those relationships can be mended or improved but not without communication.

Hebrews 13:15-16 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Senior Servants

September 4, 2015

The SOS Senior Servants met yesterday for the first time since June. It was a great joy to renew our fellowship with these dear ladies. In just two and one half hours they got over 2500 newsletters ready for mailing, then enjoyed food and fellowship.

These faithful Servants need prayer as many have illnesses, two have children with cancer and one has become a widow in the last month. Please join in prayer for them.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

God Loves a Cheerful Giver

December 13, 2013

Instead of giving gifts at the office or any other traditional gift giving group take up a collection and give it to a needy family.
2 Corinthians 9:7
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity:for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Have fellowship

December 12, 2013

It is not how much a gift costs that is important, the most wonderful gift is getting together with loved ones and friends and enjoying the fellowship.
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
