Never Alone

October 12, 2014

Sometimes in life we feel like we go one step forward and two steps back. God never promised the Christian an easy life but He did promise to go with us through every trial. When we accept Jesus as our Savior we receive the Holy Spirit who is our Comforter. Be encouraged, we are never alone or forsaken.

John 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

October

October 8, 2014

October is a very busy month for SOS Events and our staff, trainers and workers at events and we need prayer. Alabama National Fair, Talladega Race in AL, Harvest Hayride in NJ, Rodeo in FL, several Halloween events nationwide, plus the weekly Flea Markets and monthly Car Show.
Our workers get tired and they do more than double duty this time of year.
Also, the devil does not like soul winning so he will try all kinds of tactics to keep our workers occupied with other things.
More laborers are needed in all areas.
You are invited everyday to call Tom at (813)784-8242 and that invitation is open today, but if you are a person that knows how to pray please remember SOS laborers this month especially. Thank you and may God richly bless you.

Luke 10:2
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few:pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

I Asked God

September 30, 2014

I asked GOD for strength, that I might achieve
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health, that I might do greater things
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy
I was given poverty, that I might be wise.
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of GOD.
I asked for all things , that I might enjoy life
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing I asked for —–
But everything I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were
Answered
I am among all men, most richly blessed.

Matthew 6:8
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Children’s Hymn

September 29, 2014

Jesus Loves Me, This I Know
Jesus loves me! this I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak but He is strong.

CHORUS: Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells so.

This morning I awoke thinking of my young grandchildren and praying for them. Most of them do not live near me but I can have an influence on their lives by praying each day for them.
My grandmother prayed for me, sang to me and was a great influence on my life. Many years after her death I was saved and this song “Jesus Loves Me” was one of the hymns that would run through my mind even before I found a church to attend because she sang it to me as a small child.
I am thankful for the great hymns of the faith, even as a great grandmother, it lifts my spirit to hear them.

If you have a need for one of your family call Tom and he will pray with you.

SOS Weekend Events

September 27, 2014

Many things are taking place this weekend. In Alabama a large training for people to work in the SOS booth at the Telledega Race in October. Training in Florida for a couple who wants to join the SOS team. As always, there are events at Flea Markets. It is exciting to watch what God can do through a few people who are dedicated and determined to follow Him.

Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

SOS Events is blessed to have dedicated workers of all ages. Alex (pictured here with her Protecter) is one of the young people who help in the ministry. Alex does all the vinyl printing for our displays, vehicles and signs. She also designs posters, banners and anything that is needed to help make our booth space attractive.
It is wonderful to have talented young people willing to help in ministry that others may be saved.

1 Timothy 4:12
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Tom is waiting to pray with you. Call 813-784-8242

Billy Sunday Quote

September 22, 2014

“Let’s quit fiddling with religion and do something to bring the world to
Christ.” ~ Billy Sunday
Billy Sunday was a National League baseball player in the late 1880’s. After his conversion to Christianity he left baseball and became an evangelist.
He was known for his dynamic preaching in most of Americas largest cities in the beginning of the 20th century to large crowds before electric sound systems were used.
He was a great supporter of Prohibition and his preaching helped pass the 18th Ammendment in 1919.
No scandal ever touched him. Sunday continued to preach and remained a stalwart defender of conservative Christianity until his death in 1935.

2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
