New Event, New Leaders

January 24, 2017

This past Saturday SOS Events had a booth in Zephyrhills Florida at a community event. Four people were saved and we are rejoicing in their salvation. It is always a blessing to see souls saved and it gives us great pleasure when the soul winners are new event leaders. So thank you Bob and Ginger for overseeing this new event for the ministry. Hopefully it will become an annual event.

Colossians 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you

Every Situation

January 22, 2017

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

In the happy moments, praise God.    In the difficult moments, seek God.   In the quiet moments, worship God.   In the painful moments, trust God.   In every moment, thank God.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Pray for Unity

January 21, 2017

As a Christian it is our responsibility to pray for our leaders. Some people are happy that Donald Trump is our president and some people are not happy, but the Bible says to pray for those who have authority over us. We need to pray that God will give President Trump and Vice President Pence wisdom to lead America in the right direction. Only God can bring peace and prosperity to our country. Let us join together in prayer for all our government leaders and that our country will reunite in peace.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

SOS Leaders

January 20, 2017

SOS Events had a successful meeting with team leaders from FL, AL, PA via phone conference yesterday. We thank the Lord for all the leaders that oversee events and train others to be soul winners.

Proverbs 11:3 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Worldwide Influence

January 19, 2017

SOS Events ministry does not have fancy, expensive buildings. Everyone, who wins souls at events are volunteers. God does bless with many souls every year and we are thankful to be called as witnesses for Him.

SOS Events does have a worldwide influence through the blog, however. Last year, 2016, people from 102 countries visited the blog. Many like the Bible Studies. Our prayer is that people from all over the world would be saved by being directed to the webpage.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Day of Salvation

January 18, 2017

The weekly Plant City Flea Market is today. Last Wednesday one precious soul accepted Christ as Savior. Join in prayer with the staff of SOS Events that today many will be saved.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

You Must Be Born Again

January 17, 2017

“I believe that a great number of people are going to die and go to hell because they’re counting on their religiosity in the church instead of their relationship with Jesus to get them to heaven. They give lip service to repentance and faith, but they’ve never been born again.” Adrian Rogers

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Men From Appomattox

January 14, 2017

These five men totally transformed the outside of the SOS Events office buildings in 4 days. Not only are they hard workers but dedicated Christians. They are standing on the new deck that doubled the size of the space we use for meetings and workspace when needed.

Thank you (from left to right), Arnold, Patrick, Pastor Jonathan, Kevin and Jerry. Praying for a safe trip home to Appomattox, VA today.

1 Thessalonians 1:2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

Friday the 13th

January 13, 2017

It is Friday the 13th. Are you superstitious?  There are a number of popular myths and superstitions surrounding the day, most famously:

If you cut your hair on Friday the 13th, someone in your family will die.

If a funeral procession passes you on Friday the 13th, you will be the next to die.

Do not start a trip on Friday or you will encounter misfortune.

If you break a mirror on Friday the 13th, you will have seven years of bad luck.

A child born on Friday the 13th will be unlucky for life.

Ships that set sail on a Friday will have bad luck.

If you walk under a ladder or if a black cat crosses you on Friday the 13th, you will have bad luck.

As a Christian we should not believe in luck, good or bad. We should trust the Lord for everyday no matter what the calendar says. Superstition causes our minds to be confused and results in lack of trust in God.

Psalms 71:1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
