Redeemed

March 25, 2014

“We’re not redeemed by silver or gold. Jesus paid for it with his blood.”
Billy Sunday

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Meditate

March 24, 2014

Webster’s dictionary definition of Meditate:
To focus one’s thoughts on : reflect on or ponder over.
When we read the Bible, do we just read it or meditate on it?
It is important to not only read God’s Word everyday but meditate on it.

1 Timothy 4:15
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

How Long Do We Pray?

March 23, 2014

Knowing how to pray is the greatest achievement on earth, it takes great discipline to receive the power God has for us.
Jesus prayed all night to the Father.
How much time do we pray everyday?

Luke 6:12
And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Your Invitation

March 21, 2014

When you see God at work around you, that is your invitation to commit your life to that work and join Him.
Th greatest work God wants us to do is to believe on Jesus, then go and tell others that they may believe also.
God is at work in SOS Events Ministries. We invite you to join with us.

John 6:28-29
Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

“All Hail the Power of Jesus Name”

March 20, 2014

“All Hail The Power Of Jesus’ Name” is a hymn written in the 1700’s by Edward Perronet, but even though his testimony is wonderful, it is the power of the words in this song and the Holy Spirit conviction that has the power to change lives.
A missionary named E. P. Scott went to India to witness to a savage tribe. His friends tried to warn him of the danger, but being led by God he went.
One day he found himself surrounded by a large group of warriors with spears pointed at his heart.
Scott prayed, picked up his violin and started to sing the words to this hymn.
“All hail the power of Jesus name! Let angels prostrate fall; Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him Lord of all….”
The 3rd verse, “Let every kindred, every tribe, on this terrestrial ball, To Him all majesty ascribe, And crown Him Lord of all…”
When he finished singing he opened his eyes and the warriors were standing, spears lowered, some in tears. He spent the next few years evangelizing that tribe.

Philippians 2:10
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Sowing Seeds

March 18, 2014

Many of the verses in the Bible can be applied to our lives in different ways. The Holy Spirit uses God’s Word to bring us to the place that He wants us to be.
In context the following verse is talking about our giving of money, however, it can also be used in many areas of our lives.
In a parable, Jesus spoke of seed and the sower as a witness, and I like to think that this verse can be applied to witnessing also.
We will never see God work in our lives to win souls if we never witness to anyone.

2 Corinthians 9:6
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

St.Patrick’s Day

March 17, 2014

It is known that St. Patrick was born in Britain to wealthy parents near the end of the fourth century. He is believed to have died on March 17, around 460 A.D. Although his father was a Christian deacon, it has been suggested that he probably took on the role because of tax incentives and there is no evidence that Patrick came from a particularly religious family. At the age of 16, Patrick was taken prisoner by a group of Irish raiders who were attacking his family’s estate. They transported him to Ireland where he spent six years in captivity. During this time, he worked as a shepherd, outdoors and away from people. Lonely and afraid, he turned to his religion for solace, becoming a devout Christian. (It is also believed that Patrick first began to dream of converting the Irish people to Christianity during his captivity.)
On March 17 many people celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with parades, parties and many other activities.
Much of what we think about this day is tradition of men. God wants us to worship Him in spirit and truth.

John 4:24
God is a Spirit:and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Who is God Looking For?

March 16, 2014

“GOD IS LOOKING FOR IMPERFECT MEN and WOMEN who have learned to walk in… dependence on the Holy Spirit… Believers who have… TAKEN TIME TO INVESTIGATE everything God has to offer in this life.” ~ Charles Stanley

Psalms 14:2
The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men,
to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

Are You a Fisher of Men?

March 13, 2014

As Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw 2 men, Simon Peter and Andrew, his brother. They were fishermen and Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Soul winners are made, not born. To be an effective witness, you must be taught, trained and motivated by the Holy Spirit.
One of the purposes of SOS Events is to teach Christians how to be taught to witness for The Lord. If you need to be a better witness, SOS has the tools and training to help you. Contact us by phone: 813-494-7512 or email: info@sosevents.org.

Matthew 4:19
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Spring Ahead, Fall Back

March 10, 2014

Time change. One of the difficult things in life for me is the time change that we, in many states of the USA, go through twice a year.
Spring ahead, fall back is how we remember which way to set our clocks.
Man is always trying to improve what God has done.
God created the times and the seasons and before our lives got so “scheduled”, in simpler times, people got up when it got light and went to bed when it got dark.
If you, like me are finding it difficult to adjust to the new time schedule, let us rejoice that in Heaven there will be no time change. Looking forward to that Day.

Revelation 22:5
And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light:and they shall reign for ever and ever.
