February is the month of love. Ads on TV, displays in stores, hearts everywhere. The greatest love ever shown to man is God’s love when he sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Greatest Love
February 11, 2014Anger
February 7, 2014Saying on a church billboard:
“A temper is like a fire. If you let it get out of control, it can cause a lot of destruction.”
Ephesians 4:31
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
Anxiety
February 5, 2014“Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength.”
Charles Spurgeon
Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Need Direction?
February 2, 2014Need direction? The answer is in these two verses from Proverbs.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.
Do Not Be Weary
January 29, 2014January is always an extremely busy month for the staff of SOS ministries. The office staff has end of the year reports to get finished, the shop has several projects to complete, there is preparation for the many events that take place in Florida in the winter and there are new people to be trained, some for event workers and some to be event leaders.
All this activity can cause us to get weary, but the Bible says we will reap if we faint not.
Why is all this activity so necessary? SOULS. All of the effort is with the goal in mind of winning many people to Christ.
The promise is in the verse. WE WILL REAP.
Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing:for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Faith
January 28, 2014Today, if you have a need; believe and have faith in GOD who created the world, who saved your soul and who loves you and wants to give his child good things. Meditate on Him and thank Him for the answer.
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him:for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
God Answers Prayer
January 18, 2014God answers prayer. One of the great things about God is that He cares about the little things in our lives.
Sometimes we think He only answers in a crisis or a big problem but if we are truly following His leading He loves to give us what we ask.
SOS participates in a big event every year, the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fl. It takes many people to witness in the booth over a 11day period. Many churches are invited to send a team to help.
Tom and I were delivering DVDs about the festival to the area churches for the congregation to watch and it was important that each DVD was given to a responsible person at every church.
The first church we went to, no one was there, so we continued on to other places.
About 2 hours later, I prayed and ask The Lord to have someone at that first church so we could finish our deliveries.
We arrived at the church and there was a car there. It was the pastor’s wife.
She said, “I am never here this time of day, but my husband ask me to meet him here today and I have no idea why.”
I told her about the prayer and we rejoiced together, knowing that God answered a specific prayer.
Matthew 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Witnessing In Everyday Situations
January 16, 2014Witnessing is a natural part of everyday living for Tom no matter where he goes. Yesterday, SOS needed a cable from Radio Shack.
There was a sweet young woman helping him find what he needed and when the purchase was completed, he asked her the question he often asks, “Are you 50, 75, or 100% sure if you died today you would go to Heaven?
“I think so, I’m a good person,” was her answer.
“You really aren’t sure are you? Would you like to be sure? ” Tom asked.
When she said she would, Tom then led her to The Lord.
There is nothing that lifts our spirit more than to be used to witness and then see a person respond to the Gospel.
Two blessings, a young woman is on her way to Heaven, and Tom’s heart was overflowing with joy.
Ephesians 1:13
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Hang in There
January 15, 2014There is a poster that hung in my office several years ago. It had a picture of a kitten hanging on a branch of a tree and the words were, ” Hang in there baby, Friday’s coming.”
Today things sometimes look bleak and we get discouraged but the good news is that Jesus is coming soon. What a joy to know that we shall see Him face to face, if we know Him as our Savior.
Luke 21:28
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
The Great Phycisian
January 14, 2014Everyone has to go to the doctor for some reason. Sometimes it is something non-threatening like a cold or sore throat. Sometimes it is serious like heart attack or cancer. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all physicians were Christians? We are very fortunate to have one that is a Christian. He prays for us and we likewise pray for him.
How can you tell if you doctor is a Christian? Ask him or her or tell them you are praying for them. Always carry tracts to hand out when going to your doctor. (SOS has a simple tract if you would like a sample)
Also you can search the web to see if there is a Christian physician in your area.
Always remember that it is the Great Physician, Jesus, who is the true healer. Go to Him first and then trust His servant doctor for the best care.
Matthew 8:7
And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
