The song “Oh How I Love Jesus” was written in in the early 1855 when Frederick Whitfield was a student in England. The chorus was not part of the original song.
The chorus was written by an unknown American songwriter. The tune of the chorus was catchy and it was sung and added to many hymns until finally someone put the words of the two together and it became the song we know and love.
1 John 4:19
We love him, because he first loved us.

Oh How I Love Jesus
February 15, 2014Well Done
February 10, 2014Most churches have so much more money and resources than
SOS Events ministries yet very few if any salvations.
When SOS servants stand Before GOD, AND GOD asks who did you
bring with you. We can smile. God knows all.
Matthew 25:23
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things:enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Faithful Servants
February 4, 2014The Lord continues to bless at the Flea Markets in Florida. The team from Lakeland, lead by Randy and Joyce, are faithful and The Lord blesses their efforts with souls every week.
It takes real dedication and love for the lost to continue every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday plus any other opportunity they have to win souls at an event.
SOS is looking for more faithful servants like this couple and their team to Serve Our Savior at events.
If God is calling You, we are waiting for you to join with us in our goal to have teams of soul winners in every state. Email: info@sosevents.org or Phone: 813-494-7927.
Matthew 25:23

God Answers Prayer
January 18, 2014God answers prayer. One of the great things about God is that He cares about the little things in our lives.
Sometimes we think He only answers in a crisis or a big problem but if we are truly following His leading He loves to give us what we ask.
SOS participates in a big event every year, the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fl. It takes many people to witness in the booth over a 11day period. Many churches are invited to send a team to help.
Tom and I were delivering DVDs about the festival to the area churches for the congregation to watch and it was important that each DVD was given to a responsible person at every church.
The first church we went to, no one was there, so we continued on to other places.
About 2 hours later, I prayed and ask The Lord to have someone at that first church so we could finish our deliveries.
We arrived at the church and there was a car there. It was the pastor’s wife.
She said, “I am never here this time of day, but my husband ask me to meet him here today and I have no idea why.”
I told her about the prayer and we rejoiced together, knowing that God answered a specific prayer.
Matthew 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Radio Shack Salvation
January 17, 2014The Radio Shack Salvation story from yesterday is not finished. There were two clerks in the store when Tom went in and talked to the first girl that got saved. At that time there were other customers in the store so he was unable to talk to both girls. Then when I, Carolyn, went in to meet the one young woman that had just got saved, Tom had opportunity to witness to the other clerk.
No other customers came into the store the entire time that we both were in there. The second girl gladly received Christ also.
What a great blessing to have the privilege of giving the Gospel to these sweet young women and to have both of them trust Christ as their Savior.
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Wonderful Day!
January 11, 2014Do you get excited about serving The Lord? SOS Events main purpose is winning the lost to Christ and training others how to become soul winners, however, there are a lot of things that go on to keep the ministry running smoothly.
Book work, printing, making displays, creating new tools to help make witnessing easier, maintenance on the property, and many more things to numerous to mention. All these things are necessary to a growing ministry and sometimes the tasks seem overwhelming.
Then at the end of the day we look back and feel that everything that we did that day went well and much was accomplished. Yesterday was one of those days.
What a blessing to see projects get finished. All the goals for the day done. New excitement about serving The Lord and seeing Him give wisdom and blessing. To Him be the Glory!!
Galatians 1:5
To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
God Does Answer
January 2, 2014When God gives us a no for an answer, keep in mind that there is a much greater yes behind it.
It is not a rejection but a redirection.
Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Encouragement from Simeon
December 26, 2013For most of us Christmas is over, the presents have been unwrapped, the family has departed, the feasting is done. It may be a time when a feeling of disappointment or sadness has replaced the expectation that you felt just yesterday.
Now is the time to remember that the blessings of Christmas did not end with the birth of Jesus. That was just the beginning.
Mary and Joseph took Him to the temple, when He was 8 days old. They met a old man named Simeon who would not see death until he saw the Messiah. When he held baby Jesus he knew that
Jesus was One who the Holy Spirit had promised. Simeon said in Luke 2:30 “For mine eyes have seen thy salvation.”
Today be encouraged, Jesus came to bring us salvation and give us joy and peace in our hearts.
Mary, Humble and Pure
December 18, 2013Mary was humble, pure and willing to do what God asked of her. She was young woman with the same emotions and feelings that we all have and God chose her, blessed her and honored her. She still knew she needed a Savior. Her conversation with Elizabeth in Luke gives us great insight into who Mary was and what she believed. A good passage of scripture to study at this time of year.
Luke 1:47
And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
