January 9, 2014Today is a busy day around the SOS property. Senior Servants meet today. This is a group of 20 or more ladies from at least 5 different churches in the area for one common goal. To help in whatever way they can to further the gospel through SOS Events Ministry.
They come together in harmony to enjoy work, fellowship and lunch. Please pray for them today. Several come physical pain, having to use canes or walkers, some have problems that come from being alone but they are faithful. This group started with 3 ladies about 3 years ago and the group grows every month.
We are so thankful to have these volunteers to help in the labour for The Lord.

New Life in Christ

Kathy led Kenny 57, from Auburndale, FL to the lord on December 1, 2012. He returned today simply to say thanks for telling him about Jesus Christ. When he stopped by our booth in 2012, he was depressed & near suicide because his wife had just died & the funeral was two days away. Kenny said his life seemed worthless & without meaning. All of us who were sharing the Gospel that day remember Kenny as we prayed & cried with & for him. We wondered if we would ever see him again. Kenny is attending a good church & has completed all of the “Source Of Light” correspondence Bible studies we offer through SOS. To God be the glory. The next time someone doubts the efficacy of Biblical evangelism, tell them Kenny’s testimony & ask them what they’re doing to win the lost to Jesus Christ.

The Lord Laughs
January 7, 2014Today the whole USA is experiencing extremely cold weather. In many of the northern states it is dangerous to even go outside with the temperature way below freezing, not to mention the snow and ice, which makes driving hazardous.
The “experts” tell us we have global warming, and we are in great danger from heat.
I can imagine God looking down on us and laughing at our foolishness.
If you are someone who is at home today, not able to go out because of the weather, take this unexpected opportunity to worship God with added Bible study and prayer.
Our prayer for you is that you stay warm and safe.

One World Religion?
January 6, 2014Welcome to 2014
I’m sure the early 16th Century believers thought we must be near the end!
I’m sure the year 250 looked just as distressing!
and Jesus proclaimed, “what a perverse generation” 2000 years ago.
Not much has changed,as we regress, Christianity will be labeled a cult and outlawed completely. We will be shot on sight for sharing the Gospel. (In America….already happening in some places)
I’ve read the different articles on “Chrislam”, well, what a brilliant scheme!
If I wanted to deceive the World, this is exactly how I’d do it. Combining all religions and removing Christ as Saviour and God.
This makes sense to all non-believers; Politicians, Military, Rights groups, etc.
The challenge is two fold:
1. Bring the lost to Christ; as many as possible
2. Get the new convert to learn and mature…..an ignorant Christian will be in as much danger as a non-believer if Chrislam becomes popular.
To win and disciple the lost is the goal of SOS Events Ministry.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

A Happy Anniversary
January 5, 2014We, Tom and Carolyn Curtis celebrate our anniversary today, January 5. When God brought us together He not only gave us a wonderful marriage but directed us to start SOS Events in 2001.
Since that time over 35,000 people have made decisions for Christ through SOS Events.
We are so thankful for God’s plan for us and for this ministry that has been so effective in winning souls to Jesus.

Are You Making a Difference?
January 4, 2014There is a story about a little boy walking along the seashore that was filled with star fish that had been washed up on the sand. The little boy walked along picking up every star fish that he could and tossed them back into the sea.
A man came along and said, “Why bother with those, there are too many, and they will just die.”
The boy answered as he picked up another one, “it makes a difference to this one.”
There are over 7 billion people in the world, and as an individual we can not win them all to Christ, but we can witness and make a difference in a persons life, one at a time.

Do You Sit Idle?
January 3, 2014“Could a mariner sit idle, if he heard the drowning cry?
Could a doctor sit in comfort and just let his patients die?
Could a fireman sit idle, let men men burn and give no hand?
Can you sit at ease at home, with the world around you damned?”

God Does Answer
January 2, 2014When God gives us a no for an answer, keep in mind that there is a much greater yes behind it.
It is not a rejection but a redirection.
