God has given the church pastors to be shepherds of His flock. A good shepherd leads, feeds, protects, encourages, and cares for the sheep—and that is what a faithful pastor is called to do for God’s people.
Being a pastor is much more than preaching a sermon on Sunday. Pastors pray for us, visit the sick, comfort those who are hurting, counsel those who need direction, rejoice with us in the good times, and stand beside us through difficult days. Many times they carry burdens that the congregation never even knows about.
Just as a shepherd watches carefully over his sheep, our pastors watch over the spiritual needs of the people God has entrusted to them.
Today, let us thank God for faithful pastors. Pray for your pastor and his family. Encourage him. Let him know that his labor for the Lord is appreciated.
And remember, our pastors need prayer and encouragement too.
Thank You, Lord, for the shepherds You have placed in our lives. Help us to pray for them, encourage them, and appreciate their faithful service to You.
