A Job Well Done

There is a special feeling that comes when we complete a difficult project. After days or even weeks of hard work, we step back, look at what has been accomplished, and feel a deep sense of satisfaction. The work may have been challenging, but the reward of finishing makes every effort worthwhile.

The Christian life is much the same. God has given each of us work to do. Sometimes He asks us to do things that are difficult. We may grow weary, face opposition, or wonder if our labor is making a difference. Yet God never asks us to serve Him in our own strength. He promises to be with us every step of the way.

One day, every believer will stand before the Lord Jesus Christ. On that day, the greatest reward will not be applause from people or recognition for what we have done. Our greatest desire should be to hear our Savior say, “Well done.” Those two words will make every sacrifice, every prayer, every act of service, and every opportunity to share the Gospel worth it.

Today, let us keep serving faithfully. Whether our task seems large or small, God sees it all. Stay faithful, finish the work He has given you, and look forward to the day when you hear His wonderful words:

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

KJV Scripture:

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
